Sym Husky 300 Review 2025
Abhishek Katariya says
The Sym Husky 300 is a middleweight adventure-scooter that offers a refreshing blend of practicality, rugged styling, and everyday usability. The two-wheeler is positioned as a crossover between a maxi-scooter and an adventure bike. The Sym Husky 300 is built for riders who want comfortable city commuting with the capability to tackle weekend tours and light off-road trails. Manufactured by the Taiwanese Sanyang Motor Co. The two-wheeler had its Malaysian debut in January, 2025.
Sym Husky 300 Design
The Sym Husky 300 sports muscular, crossover-inspired lines. The bodywork borrows from Sym’s ADX lineage with chunky panelling, air-inlet garnish, and a short, rugged windscreen. The front of Sym Husky 30 sports an imposing V-shaped daytime light coupled with four projector LEDs beneath it. The all-around LED headlights and taillights are geometrically integrated into the panels and look clean, modern, and highly visible. The compact yet sturdy windscreen add an adventure-bike flair. The dual-stepped saddle eye-catching and practical. It supports both rider and passenger comfortably. With a wheelbase of 1,510 mm and kerb weight 179 kg, the Sym Husky 300 offers a low centre of gravity for urban confidence without sacrificing the stubby, go-anywhere proportion. The two-wheeler comes with a robust sub-frame that can mount accessories like top-box or pannier racks.
The maxi-scooter is available in white, black, and grey colors.
Husky 300 Ride & Handling
The Sym Husky 300 comes with a flat, wide seat that provides ample room for both rider and pillion. The seat foam is moderately firm, good for short to medium rides, but may feel a bit hard on longer highway trips. The upright riding posture, combined with mid-set foot pegs and a slightly raised handlebar, ensures minimal wrist or back strain. This makes it ideal for daily commutes and casual weekend rides. The saddle height is manageable at around 790mm, which caters well to shorter riders without compromising on ground clearance. The 41mm telescopic forks at the front provide adequate damping for urban potholes and road imperfections. It soaks up moderate bumps well but can feel a bit stiff over larger undulations or sharp speed breakers. At the rear, the dual shock absorbers with preload adjustability are tuned on the firmer side, giving the two-wheeler a slightly rugged character but compromising plushness on broken roads or off-road trails.
Sym Husky 300 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Sym Husky 300 is equipped with an single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 280cc engine that produces 25PS/24Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The scooter delivers smooth, predictable power that's perfect for urban commuting and light off-roading. The torque is spread evenly across the rev range, making it responsive at lower speeds and easy to ride in traffic. While the peak power output may not sound aggressive on paper, the lightweight frame ensures brisk acceleration and a lively riding feel. The gearbox is well-spaced and shifts positively. Clutch feel is light and progressive, making it beginner-friendly. The gearing is optimized for both city riding and highway cruising. But some riders may find the sixth gear a bit underpowered for high-speed overtakes. The radiator and cooling system manage engine heat well, even in stop-and-go traffic. There’s no discomfort around the thighs, unlike other single-cylinder scooters. The Husky 300 is a straightforward two-wheeler with no ride modes or traction control,
Husky 300 Braking & Safety
The Sym Husky 300 comes with a dual-channel antilock braking system that independently monitors both front and rear wheels to prevent locking up under heavy braking. The front wheel gets a 260mm disc brake. The rear wheel gets a 240mm disc brake. This provides balanced braking power and excellent skid resistance, which is helpful on wet or loose surfaces.
Sym Husky 300 Verdict
At a starting price of RM 23,888, the Sym Husky 300 is a bit expensive in its class. But it’s a versatile maxi-scooter with good street performance, styling, smart safety features, and occasional gravel-road confidence. It’s great middle-ground for riders wanting more from a commuting bike without committing to full-on adventure motorcycles.
