Yamaha Ego Avantiz

Yamaha Ego Avantiz flaunts a bold approach in design and styling, and its tall haunches up front make it appear big and brawny. The front end looks intimidating with its narrow three-pointed LED headlamp, accentuated by widely positioned apron mounted indicators, because of which its 680 mm width seems even more prominent. The scooter is 1870 mm and 1070 mm tall.

Ego Avantiz is available in three two-tone color options – red, yellow, and blue - with bold graphics. The side panels are similarly trimmed with faux vents and slashes, leading to a high rear seat with a split grab rail, a meatier exhaust, and a centrally mounted tail lamp. The rear indicators are placed lower down the rear on stalks with the rear mudguard.

For a taller stance, the bike equips the 14-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels enclosed with 70/90 tyre at the front and 90/80 tyre at the rear. The two-wheeler comes with a fuel tank of 4.2-litres and has an under-seat storage space of 14 litres that can be used to store a full-size helmet.

The conventional instrument display also looks modern and comes with an eco-indicator for balancing power and fuel efficiency. However, It would have been better if it would be a fully digital meter.

Ego Avantiz is built on a steel underbone chassis with a comfortable seat placed at 773 mm, which not only provides a comfortable riding experience to rider but to the pillion also. The height of the handlebars also helps in a comfortable ride as does the soft and ergonomically shaped seat. The suspension set up comprises telescopic forks at the front end and the monoshock at the back. The lightweight scooter just weighs just 96 kg (dry), which makes it a breeze to maneuver in narrow streets and city traffic.

Powering the Ego Avantiz is a 124-cc, single-cylinder petrol engine. The engine comes with a bore and stroke of 52.4 mm and 57.9 mm, respectively. The maximum power extracted out from the engine is 9.4 hp at 8,000 revs, and the peak torque is 9.6 Nm that kicks in at 5,500 revs. The V-Belt transmission allows smooth and instant power delivery. 

The engine also gets the Blue Core treatment that leads to optimum fuel combustion, increased cooling efficiency, and reduced power loss. Thanks to this, 45-50 kmpl fuel economy figures are within reach at speeds of up to 100 kmph. Moreover, the eco indicator place in the instrument panel also aids in getting the best performance out of the scooter. 

For braking responsibility, the scooter is fitted with a hydraulic single disc at the front and a normal drum brake at the back. The brakes are further assisted by large section tires. One more added feature is an on/off safety parking lock system with a shutter that keeps the scooter from being moved about while on idle or parked. The shutter can be conveniently closed with a finger flick; however, it needs the back end of the key to open.
