2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Launched at RM36,880
KUALA LUMPUR: RE Motorcycles, the distributor of Royal Enfield bikes in Malaysia has officially launched the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan in the country. This move came after the launch of Royal Enfield store in Malaysia which took place in the recent past. The price of the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan set for the domestic crowd is RM36,880 (not inclusive of road tax, vehicle registration, and insurance).
The Royal Enfield Himalayan comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster that has a chunky appearance with two separate dials for speedometer and tachometer along with a separate fuel meter. Other bits include an LED tail lamp, a standard-sized windscreen, and a digital compass. There are a lot of accessories on offer too with the 2018 edition of Himalayan which includes spotlights, spare fuel canister, and panniers of both types hard and soft.
Powering the 2018 Himalayan is a 411cc single-cylinder, L410 SOHC, air/liquid cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 24.83 PS of max power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The suspension duties on the Himalayan are handled by a 41mm front fork and a monoshock unit at the rear. Designed for both on- and off-road, the Himalayan rolls on the 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels. Braking force is provided via a 300mm disc with a two-piston caliper at the front and a 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear.
The motorcycle tips the scales at 191kg and boasts a fuel tank capacity of 15 litres. The 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan is available in two colours namely, Snow and Granite. Additionally, Royal Enfield is offering Himalayan with a two-year or 20,000km manufacturing warranty.
