Vyrus Alyen revealed; gets 205-hp Ducati engine
KUALA LUMPUR: The Italian company, Vyrus, is known for producing exotic motorcycles as well as other vehicles for the past three decades. The latest creation of the firm is a Ducati-powered Alyen, which is a seamless blend of art, passion, performance and hi-tech innovation.
While making the Alyen, the firm worked with “a philosophical attitude, emphasizing art expression, and essence of an artistic concept for a traditional motorcycling use.” And this is not wrong to say that Vyrus Alyen looks like nothing you have seen before. Due to unique proportions and over-exaggerated body panels, the vehicle actually looks like a spaceship from a sci-fi movie.
Though the Alyen looks quite heavy, the weight is less than you expect. The reason being the lightweight carbon fibre used in framing the wheels and body. The firm sourced the forged carbon fibre wheels from Rotobox, a firm which is specialized in making lightweight yet extra strong wheels. Moreover, the lightweight profile is further enhanced by the aluminum frame as well as the dual exhaust system which flows towards the rear in winglet-shape while offering it a beast look.
At the heart, the superbike is powered by a Ducati Superquadro V-Twin engine paired with a six-speed gearbox, and able to generate 205 hp of power at 10,500 rpm. Other mechanical appointments include a unique push-rod type suspension at either end. The vehicle features a hub-centre steering instead of a conventional one. The steering system segregates the steering and suspension functions. It also separates braking forces from the suspension movements and makes the vehicle more agile.
At this moment, the firm did not reveal the price as well as the available number of units. So, stay tuned with us to know more about this superbike.
