Adventure capability without intimidating bulk
After years of riding kapchai, the F 900 GS was my first real adventure bike, and it was easy to get used to. The lower weight spread made the sand areas near Pantai Remis not scary for me. The 895 cc engine hums along nicely at 2,500 rpm, but it spins quickly when you're following sportbike friends through the Ulu Yam turns. I can tighten the damping for highway handling and then soften it for off-road use because the suspension is adjustable. It is easy to find ABS settings in the menus when you are wearing gloves, but the TFT screen is bright. When the chain flings, it really hurts the back wheel; we need a guard. If not, it's an outstanding balance between price, speed, and weight.
