Flagship boxer tackles every Malaysian mile

It felt like magic when I pulled away on the new R 1300 GS, making slow U-turns outside my kedai kopi was stress-free. The extra grunt of the boxer thrusts you forward, but the Eco mode wastes fuel at 19 km/l when going at 110 mph. The telelever front end gives the bike excellent control as it blasts over the bumps in the Cameron Highlands. The adaptive ride height lowers itself at stoplights, which makes it easier for my wife to get on. On busy NSE stretches near Seremban, radar cruise and blind-spot tracking really pay off. My only complaint is that the huge TFT sometimes shows sunlight. If not, it will probably be my bike for all future trips.
