Honda ADV350

The Honda ADV350 draws clear inspiration from its big brother, the X-ADV, featuring sharp, angular body panels that evoke a tough, off-road machine. Dual high-mounted LED headlights integrated into the front fairing lend a bold, aggressive visage. A four-stage adjustable windscreen offers 133mm of travel, controlled via a slide-lock mechanism. It delivers both aerodynamics at higher speeds and openness for urban riding. The scooter’s fairing is designed to highlight the 37mm upside-down forks and tubular-steel frame, amplifying the impression of a serious adventure-ready two-wheeler. The large 48-liter under-seat storage accommodates two full-face helmets, with an internal LED light and optional divider. A lockable glovebox includes a USB-C port for device charging. The Honda ADV350 gets all-around LED lighting including rear taillight and indicators. The two-wheeler gets a five-inch full-color instrument panel, upgraded from the earlier monochrome unit. It uses optical bonding to minimize glare and improve readability in bright light. The Honda RoadSync allows Bluetooth connectivity to smartphones for turn-by-turn navigation, calls, and music control. All are managed through a thumb-operated four-way toggle. The scooter also comes with voice control function. The keyless smart-key operation powers the ignition and seat lock.

The Honda ADV350 is mounted on 37mm upside-down (USD) front fork and twin rear shock absorbers with adjustable preload, borrowed from the world of larger adventure motorcycles. The setup offers a premium feel, with a level of damping rarely seen in scooters. The front fork provides excellent front-end rigidity, enhancing stability during cornering and braking. At the back, the twin shock absorbers work effectively to absorb bumps, even when riding with a pillion or carrying luggage.

The 125mm front wheel travel and 130mm at the rear lends more suspension travel than typical urban scooters. It translates to better shock absorption over potholes, rough roads, and speed bumps. The Honda ADV350 shines with its ergonomic seat design and spacious riding posture. The seat is broad, supportive, and placed at a comfortable height (795mm), offering a commanding view of the road while still being accessible to most riders. The upright riding triangle, combined with a well-positioned handlebar, ensures minimal rider fatigue during longer rides. The 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel setup with dual-purpose tires, strike a good balance between agility and bump absorption. The slightly larger wheels compared to traditional scooters help improve stability over uneven terrain and give a more planted feel on highways.

The Honda ADV350 is equipped with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 330cc engine that produces 29PS/32Nm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The engine delivers strong mid-range torque and smooth power, making it well-suited for a wide variety of riding environments. Acceleration is brisk for a scooter in this category, particularly when launching from a stop or overtaking on highways. The CVT operates seamlessly, contributing to a relaxed yet responsive ride, even during longer stretches at high speed. While the Honda ADV350 may not be a powerhouse like its bigger sibling, the ADV750, it still manages to strike a fine balance between power and efficiency. It’s capable of cruising at highway speeds comfortably, with enough reserve power for passing slower vehicles. 

The Honda ADV350 comes with 256mm front disc brake with a radial-mount two-piston calliper. The braking feel is progressive with sharp bite when needed. The rear wheel gets a 240mm disc brake that complements the front unit well and helps maintain stability during deceleration. Dual-channel antilock braking system (ABS) offers controlled braking in wet or slippery conditions.

At a starting price of RM 33,999, the Honda ADV350 is a fairly priced scooter in its segment. It strikes an impressive balance between urban sophistication and adventurous capability. The powerful engine, advanced suspension, and rugged design make it more than just a city scooter.
