Despite being an entry-level cub class bike, the Yamaha Lagenda 115Z has been equipped with a disc brake and alloy wheels, which demonstrate that Yamaha has not compromised much on mechanical aspects. The Lagenda 115Z gets a disc brake at the front, which does provide decent feedback for a bike of this class.
The four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 113.7cc engine of the Yamaha Lagenda 115Z might sound a bit basic on paper. However, for a bike targeted at the lower segment, the Lagenda 115Z’s engine is well refined and vibration-free.
Tipping the weighing scales at just 100 kgs, the Yamaha Lagenda 115Z feels agile to ride and control in various conditions. The large 17-inch tyres do make the Lagenda 115Z responsive enough to every twist of a handle.
The Yamaha Lagenda 115Z tries to look sporty, but in the process, it looks a bit disproportionate, especially from the front. The front apron looks overly bulbous from the middle, which doesn’t gel much with the overall slim profile of the bike. The dual headlamps setup too looks a bit awkward.
While Yamaha hasn’t much compromised on the mechanical front, it is the list of features which make the Lagenda 115Z feel a bit low rent. The full analog instrument console looks too plain, while there is no other notable feature apart from key shutter mechanism to make it look a bit premium.

The popularity and the appeal of the small capacity underbones with sporty styling is undeniable in South East Asia. Combine that with an extremely affordable sub RM 6000 price tag and you are sure to have an unquenchable demand for the bike in the market. But this has flooded the market with small sporty undertones. All these bikes come with the same sort of styling and performance and mileage figures making them almost indistinguishable from each other. Some, however, have succeeded in standing out from their competition. The Yamaha Lagenda 115Z is one of them, it stands out cuz of its unique styling and displacement. It uses fuel injection and sells for a very low price of RM 5362. Yamaha has had this bike on sale in various guises and in different markets as early as 2000. The bike has steadily been improved over the years and in 2017 it received a few new color options. The bike however, faces stiff competition from the likes of Honda Wave Dash and many similarly displaced underbones.
Put it next to its competitors and the Lagenda is easily one of the most stylish underbones out there. From the sides, the bike cuts an especially sporty picture. The very stance and the position of the handlebars and the high riding tail give it a very sporty appearance. The bike has compact dimensions with a length of 1935 mm, width of 680 mm, and height of 1065 mm along with a 1240 mm wheelbase. The ground clearance is low at 125 mm. It is propped on 17-inch cast alloy wheels with 70/90 38P tires on the front and 80/90 44P tires on the rear.
The front end is easily recognizable with its twin halogen headlight setup, below which lies a brawny apron with large indicator lamps flanking the nostril like opening in the middle. The apron has a double fin design that channels air into the engine for better cooling and performance. The Lagenda’s spine tapers out as it comes towards the seat. The tail end itself gets an angular LED effect tail light and ergonomically shaped grab handle. The Lagenda 115Z is available in three colors: red, black, and blue. The bike also gets striking graphics that really tie together its aggressive looks. In addition, the Lagenda has practical features like the large utility box under the seat that can be used for storing essentials be it rain gear or documents. The conventional instrument display is very attractive and easy to read.
A bike with its own one-make racing series is expected to have good handling. And the Lagenda does not disappoint in the least. This despite the budget conventional suspension setup using telescopic front forks on the front and a twin shock absorber setup for the rear. Its low weight of just 101 kg makes it easy to handle. The compact wheelbase also aids in the agility. The seat is also low at just 765 mm making it very easy ride for riders of all heights. The low seat and handlebars give it a front leaning racy riding stance. It is a bit sloping and might need readjustment from time to time. But this problem might not be noticeable by short rides that it is meant for.
The Yamaha Lagenda 115Z is powered by a fuel injected and air cooled 115 cc 2 valve SOHC engine that produces 10.1 PS at 7750 rpm and 9.9 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm. The bike uses a 4-speed constant mesh transmission with a centrifugal clutch. The engine gets revised intakes and exhaust openings for better power. The power delivery is spirited especially with a handful of revs. The fuel economy is even better, thanks to the fuel injection which puts it at 60 kmpl. The 4-litre fuel tank does not feel inadequate at all. A perfect combination of speed with efficiency. Also included in the package are both an electric and a kick starter.
The single piston disc brake setup on the front and a leading-trailing drum brake on the rear give it good braking for its intended use without compromising its budget-friendly nature.
The Yamaha Lagenda 115Z has everything that the discerning commuter expects from this price point. It has just the right amount of performance and fuel efficiency wrapped in a stylish and affordable package.
The reason I opted for this two-wheeler was its splashing sporty look along with the electric start option. It saves me from the bite of fuel pricing along with taking care of the globe. The scooter gives me moderate to fine performance daily as I use it regularly to travel from home to the office and some other places, especially
The Yamaha Lagenda 115z is one of the most reliable underbones which you can see around the streets of Malaysia. Thanks to the widespread ability of the bike, users have access to spare parts easily, making owning a very affordable factor. Besides this, I’d like to comment on the easy handling and lightweight nature of the bike; both of these
The Yamaha Lagenda is a series of underbone motorcycles that marks its presence in the market for over two decades now. For its 2022 year model, the bike brings out a revolutionary difference, one which only makes it better than the last offerings. I needed a simple commuter motorcycle that would not be boring to ride and would look stylish. I bought the Yamaha Lagenda 115Z and I am absolutely impressed by the quality offered by Yamaha. The Lagenda 115Z is an easy bike to ride, even for a beginner. The bike feels very balanced while riding and the lightweight frame makes it easy for you to manoeuvre it through the streets. In terms of design, the Lagenda is a very subtle bike that seems to be perfect for adults because of its simple graphics. The performance
I have been riding bikes for the last 20 years. But more than motorcycles, I find scooters best suited for city roads. Scooters these days don’t look bland and dated. They have a sporty styling and come with lots of features. The Yamaha Lagenda 115Z is one of the best two-wheelers for city driving, It’s lightweight, uncomplicated, practical and has
I have started with my food vlogging and trust me that one needs to travel to a lot of different places. I was even getting invited to review food for newly opened restaurants far away from my place of residence. It was getting a little pocket-pinching for me until I purchased this Legenda 115Z around 6 months back. Being a
I love mopeds more than scooters. They feel more modern and closer to riding a normal motorcycle. My ride is this Yamaha Lagenda 115Z and it feels like a lot better option than riding a scooter. I feel a lot more stable and safe while riding it, even if I cross around 60-70 kmph speed, unlike a scooter. Also, the
I have recently joined a firm and its reporting time is the standard prime time. And I always find myself running after the bus because of its scheduled passing time. It was indeed becoming challenging to travel using public transport. Hence, I decided to get myself a two-wheeler. I was looking for something that could fulfill my two requirements; that’s
I am more or less satisfied with this bike. Though I feel the bike has attempted to look somewhat sporty but yet the feel is missing from this vehicle. On the contrary this looks out of shape. But yet I can label this bike to be quite a high end vehicle in terms of its quality. This is well inclusive
