Malaysia gets a new maxi-scooter, the QJMotor AX200S

KUALA LUMPUR: MForce Bike Holdings has expanded the QJMotor lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the all-new AX200S. It is an affordable and sporty maxi scooter, ready to redefine your daily commute with style, performance, and practicality.

The QJMotor AX200S is priced at RM 7,988 (on the road, excluding insurance) in the Malaysian market, which seems quite attractive compared to the Honda Vario 160 and Yamaha NVX 155.

QJMotor AX200S engine and transmission

At the heart of the new QJMotor’s scooter, we can find a 175-cc, single-cylinder, SOHC, four-valve engine which kicks out a maximum power of 17 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 15.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission with belt final drive.

QJMotor AX200S design and features

The  AX200S has a sporty design with a gnarly forward windshield and a sharp, angular LED headlight mated to winglet-like elements beneath it. A sculpted fuel tank area and streamlined side panels enhance its aggressive appeal. 

The rear design appears sleek with a sharply contoured tail section, a compact LED tail light, and a notably elongated exhaust system. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels fitted with 100/80-14 front and 120/70-14 rear tyres. As for all the essential driving-related information, there comes an LCD touchscreen display.

With a seat height of 780 mm, the two-wheeler weighs 127 kg and offers adequate underseat storage, enabling you to keep one full-size helmet.  

Features like dual USB ports, an ergonomic riding seat, a front storage compartment, and a smart lock system add to the comfort and convenience.

QJMotor AX200S suspension and braking

Telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear manage the suspension duties. 230 mm front disc brakes and 220 mm rear disc brakes help the vehicle stop. A dual-channel ABS and traction control system completes the system, preventing wheel spin during acceleration, especially on loose or wet surfaces.

The QJMotor AX200S colour palette includes three striking shades - Grey, Moon Blue, and Sand Brown.
