MAS 2025: All-new Yamaha XMax and TMax Tech Max launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Autoshow 2025 is in full swing at MAEPS Serdang, with several exciting cars and bikes on display. Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has also put up its booth at the event, where you can find two new models - the 2025 Yamaha XMax and the 2025 Yamaha TMax Tech Max.

2025 Yamaha XMax

- Design: The latest Yamaha scooter has a lower and wider windshield, offering better wind protection. For a sleeker look, the front turn signals are now integrated into the front cowl. There is also a lighter exhaust system for improved performance and efficiency.
- Engine: At the core of the new Yamaha XMax lies the same 249-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine generating a maximum power of 22.5 hp at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 24.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

- Instrument cluster: The 2025 XMax comes with a new dual-panel design with a TFT-LCD display on the right side and a standard LCD unit on the left side. It supports Bluetooth connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app.
- Features: Equipment kit includes an electrically adjustable windshield, emergency stop signal, keyless start, USB-C charging port, hydraulic disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, and a 13-litre fuel tank
- Colours: The scooter is offered in two striking shades - Ceramic Grey and Iconic Red.
- Price: The 2025 Yamaha Max is priced at RM 24,888 (excluding road tax, insurance or registration).
2025 Yamaha TMax Tech Max

- Design: The new Yamaha TMax Tech Max benefits from a redesigned front panel with updated daytime running lights and textured fabric seat upholstery. It also gets refined intake acoustics for a smoother, quieter ride and stands on new 15-inch machine-cut wheels.

- Instrument console: Also new for 2025 is a refreshed interface design for the 7-inch TFT cluster. The system now supports Yamaha’s Y-Connect app and Garmin Motorise for navigation.
- Engine: In terms of mechanical setup, the scooter gets the same tried and tested 562-cc DOHC parallel-twin engine tuned to deliver 47.6 hp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 55.7 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox and a belt final drive system.

- Features: Equipment kit comprises - an electronically adjustable windscreen, cruise control, keyless start system, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, heated grips and seat, traction control, selectable ride modes, Yamaha Brake Control system (or Cornering ABS), an anti-theft centre stand, and a 15-litre fuel tank.
- Colours: It is offered in Magma Black and Ceramic Grey shades.
- Price: The 2025 Yamaha TMax Tech Max retails for RM 75,888 (excluding road tax, insurance, or registration) in Malaysia.
The new XMax and TMax Tech Max underline the brand’s commitment to advanced engineering, rider comfort, and premium aesthetics. They will be available at all authorised Yamaha dealerships by the end of May.
