Vespa introduces three limited scooters in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Vespa is a premium brand that sells quality scooters. However, if we look at most of the models in the Vespa range, we will notice that they are lifestyle products and not just commuters-based two-wheelers. Hence, adding on to the silver line, this Italian company has brought three new limited edition models in the Malaysian market namely, Sprint Carbon, Sei Giorni and the 946 2018 (RED).

The Vespa Sei Giorni is the most unique scooter among all the three new additions. It is a tribute to the Sei Giorni race, which was held back in 1951. It is covered in an attractive Matte Green shade and has a very old-inspired styling with the headlamps fitted on top of the front mudguard. It is powered by a big 300 cc motor which is tuned in to make a maximum of 21 horsepower, which comes at 7,750 rpm and a peak torque of 22 Nm coming at 5,000 rpm.

The Vespa Sprint Carbon, on the other hand, is more like a modern-day retro scooter that is painted in a Matte Black shade but has red inserts as well. Mechanically, it is powered by the i-Get 150 cc engine from the company. This motor can produce 13.9 PS of highest power at 6,000 rpm.

Finally, the Vespa 946 RED has a very noble cause hidden behind its existence. It is a part of the RED fund, which raises money to fight against HIV/AIDS. For every model of the Vespa 946 sold, the company will be donating RM620 (USD150) towards this fund to be used to provide for 500 days of medication to a victim of HIV/AIDS.

It has similar designing traits to the 946 Emporio Armani model, albeit the red colour. It has LED lights for the front and back along with a complete digital LCD display for the console.

The Vespa 946 RED has been given a price tag of RM66,000 while the Sei Giorni and Sprint Carbon are priced at RM38,000 and RM17,400 respectively.
