KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has opened a new chapter in the story of 'adventure touring' in Malaysia, with the launch of the all-new Tenere 700. It is a lightweight adventure bike with thrilling performance and outstanding reliability, offering freedom to explore the world without borders.

Award-winning engine with YCC-T electronic throttle
The adventure-ready Tenere 700 is powered by Yamaha's award-winning 690-cc CP2 engine, specifically made for this model. It churns out a maximum power of 73.4 PS at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 68 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Sending power to the wheels is a six-speed gearbox.
The upgraded model comes equipped with the YCC-T electronic throttle, introduced for the first time on the CP2 drivetrain, which promises smoother and more precise throttle response. The bike can adapt to different riding terrains with two available riding modes - Sport and Explorer, a 3-mode switchable ABS system, and a switchable Traction Control System.

Underpinning a tough steel chassis, the bike is designed to offer a controlled and engaging ride in a wide variety of environments. It features large spoked wheels (21-inch front and 18-inch rear) and adjustable tall suspension, contributing to high ground clearance and a commanding riding position.
The Tenere 700 suspension setup comprises 43 mm diameter upside-down front forks with preload compression and rebound adjustment at the front, along with a rear monoshock, offering preload and rebound adjustability. Handling the braking duties are twin 282 mm discs with Brembo callipers at the front and a single 245 mm disc at the rear.
Rugged rally-inspired design
The bike features a rally-inspired design with a tall stance, minimalist bodywork, and a vertical LED headlight setup. It is sprayed with Yamaha Blue colour scheme, taken from the Rally version of the bike, featuring blue body panels and gold rims for a more premium look.

There is also a new intuitive switchgear, which is ergonomically designed for easy operation. It features a five-direction joystick for conveniently scrolling with convenience features such as three-flash signalling and auto-cancelling indicators.
6.3-inch TFT display
The Yamaha Tenere 700 comes equipped with a large 6.3-inch colour TFT display, providing all the vital information to riders. The cluster supports smartphone connectivity, unlocking a host of features such as the integration of phone calls, music and turn-by-turn navigation through the MyRide app. Also part of the standard kit is a USB-C charging port.
