Modenas Z15GT arrives in Malaysia with new colours and added protection

KUALA LUMPUR: Modenas has officially introduced the upgraded version of the Z15GT, which was first introduced in October last year. The update brings several durability-focused improvements to the underbone motorbike, making it a more compelling option in the 150cc motorcycle segment.

Let’s take a closer look at the 2026 Modenas Z15GT, starting with the price. 

Price remains unchanged

The 2026 Modenas Z15GT price remains unchanged at RM 8,288 (excluding road tax, insurance and registration). Included in the price is a two-year or 20,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) against manufacturing defects.

Modenas Z15GT: What’s new?

The upgraded underbone motorcycle is offered in two new colour options - Lime Green and Amazon Green. New shades are accompanied by redesigned body graphics, enhancing the bike’s visual appeal.

The bikemaker has also introduced several minor product improvements, under the Z15GT Care Programme, which mainly focus on improving durability and protection against water exposure. These include -

• Improved drainage for the overflow tray
• Additional coating and sealant around the ignition knob switch for better protection from water
• Revised injector cap bolt and collar
• A low-level indicator line for the front brake lever
• Reinforced side-cover snap fittings for enhanced durability
• Additional socket covers to protect the wiring harness from water exposure.
• Extra protection for solder points inside both the left- and right-hand switch pods

Modenas Z15GT: What remains unchanged?

• The supermoped is powered by the same 149.5-cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine as earlier. The setup kicks out a maximum power of 16.76 hp at 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. 
• Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
• It features the same Sugomi -inspired styling with a bold front face, aggressive bodywork, and a striking LED headlamp and daytime running light.
• The Z15GT rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres. Handling the suspension duties are telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear monoshock.
• Other continuing bits include an LCD instrument panel, Smart Key System, a 5.7-litre fuel tank, single hydraulic discs front and rear, and a single-channel anti-lock braking system.

The 2026 Modenas Z15GT kapchai is now available at all authorised Modenas dealer showrooms across Malaysia. It rivals the likes of the Yamaha YZ15R, Honda RS-X Winner 150, and Suzuki Raider R150 Fi.
