BMW Motorrad Malaysia line-up now includes two new sports tourers; the R 1250 R & R 1250 RS

KUALA LUMPUR: Time to rejoice, motorcycle enthusiasts, as BMW Motorrad Malaysia has introduced two new motorcycles in the country.

The two new BMW motorcycles hail from the sports touring segment and are called the R 1250 R and R 1250 RS. Here we’ll be discussing the two in detail.

Powertrain

Both the R 1250 R and R 1250 RS are powered by BMW's iconic mill, a 1,254 cc two-cylinder air- and oil-cooled boxer twin mill with DOHC and the brand's ShiftCam variable valve timing. The unit generates a maximum power of 134.1 hp at 7,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm.

The power is transmitted to the wheels via a 6-speed gearbox with shift final drive.

 

Riding aids

As expected the new BMWs come stacked with a full suite of driving aids as standard. Part of the list is -

Convenience features

A BMW motorcycle is not all about performance but also luxury which it provides to its rides. The new R 1250 R and R 1250 RS is no less in this matter and come equipped with a TFT-LCD colour screen with customizable displays offering all important information to the rider, a 12-volt power socket, and a USB-A socket with a 5-volt power supply.

Also, part of the standard kit is Comfort, Touring, and Dynamic packages that include features like case holders, keyless ride, and cruise control.
