Aerodynamics and design updates
The M 1000 RR Competition is essentially born out of racing, refined in wind tunnels, and legalised for the road. It comes with a redesigned front fairing, revised windscreen, and updated carbon fibre M Winglets 3.0 that generate up to 30 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, keeping the bike planted through corners and reducing front wheel lift.
The bike drops the previous M Aero Wheel Covers in favour of a more race-focused setup, while key panels – such as the fairing, front wheel cover, and engine spoiler – now use high-strength plastics to save weight without sacrificing durability. Top speed remains a blistering 314 km/h.

At its heart, the new M 1000 RR Competition runs a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine producing 218 hp at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. That’s 6 hp more than before. It sprints from 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, pairing razor-sharp acceleration with BMW’s signature handling.
The engine gets several detailed upgrades:
-
A reworked cylinder head with reshaped combustion chambers.
-
Lightweight titanium valves with improved geometry.
-
A bigger 52 mm throttle valve and revised airbox.
-
A full-titanium exhaust system with oval headers and optimised flanges.
These improvements enhance high-revving performance while still meeting Euro 5+ emissions standards.
Electronics and rider aids
BMW has equipped the superbike with a full suite of advanced rider aids. The Riding Modes Pro package comes standard, giving access to Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race modes, along with three customisable Race Pro modes. These allow riders to tweak traction control, engine braking, throttle response, and wheelie control.
A steering angle sensor enables Slide Control for controlled power drifts out of corners, while the Brake Slide Assist function allows riders to manage rear-wheel drifts under braking. ABS Pro is also optimised for slick tyres, making it fully race-compatible.
Equipment and packages
The M 1000 RR Competition is offered in a single, fully loaded variant. Highlights of the M Competition Package include:
-
M Carbon Package: carbon fibre components such as wheel covers, tank cover, and passenger seat cover.
-
M Billet Pack: CNC-milled aluminium brake and clutch levers, new rider footrests, and a brake lever guard.
-

-
M Carbon Wheels for weight savings and improved agility.
