Ducati Bologna eco-friendly facility takes sustainability to another level

KUALA LUMPUR: Ducati has finally completed and opened its brand-new eco-friendly facility in Bologna, Italy. What makes this new facility so special is its efforts to take sustainability to the next level by including conventional and innovative features.

Included in its environmental-friendly efforts are -

• A near-zero energy building (nZEB )
• Using 100% LED lighting units
  175 kWp photovoltaic system (produces more than 200 MWh of electricity)
• Energy-efficient air-con system
• Rainwater recovery system (recovery of 90% rainwater)
• Daylighting factor
• Indoor garden
• Group fire prevention standards

Called the Finiture e Delibera Estetica, Ducati’s latest facility will soon host the final phase of the production cycle that will include quality verification of each motorcycle manufactured.

The said facility is spread over an area of 13,000 square foot and as mentioned earlier is packed with several notable features. What’s interesting is that the facility only took less than eight months to complete with construction work beginning in April this year.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, on the completion of the facility said, “This year has been truly splendid for Ducati, and the inauguration of the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica manufacturing represents yet another moment of pride.

“This building embodies an investment that brings value to the company but also to the territory in which Ducati operates.

“The new space will house a strategic phase of production where we focus on the attention to detail and beauty of our motorcycles so that they are perfect when they arrive at our passionate Ducatisti.”
