Honda Winner X gets cosmetic updates for 2022

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only last month that Honda Malaysia launched the RS-X in the local market and now its Vietnamese version known as the Winner X is getting updated for the model year 2022. Will we get it too? Not sure.

So, what’s new? The Winner X showcases the same head unit as the Malaysia-spec RS-X, however, the cowl is new in the former with what appears to be air inlets at the sides. Thus, giving the underbone a unified appearance. Also, the exhaust now comes with a few small revisions.

The key highlights of the recent update, however, are the inclusion of a USB charger, upgraded drive chain, and smart key system. Rest all remain the same, be it the seat, instrument panel, or tail lights.

Coming to the power configuration, the Winner X is fueled by a 149.1 cc, single-cylinder, PGM-Fi, DOHC mill making a maximum power of 15.4 hp at 9,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 13.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed transmission unit.

In Vietnam, Honda is offering the Winner X in three variant options - Standard model with ABS, Sport model with ABS in Trico colour scheme, and Special model with gold iodised forks and ABS. They are priced at 46.09 million dong (RM 8,446), 50.49 million dong (RM 9,253), and 49.99 million dong (RM 9,161), respectively.

Its Malaysia counterpart, the RS-X with ABS, on the other hand, retails for RM 8,688.
