Superbike power meets long-haul comfort

Last month, I rode the GSX-S1000GX from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh. It felt like a sports bike with touring shoes on. The big four-cylinder engine roared past 140 mph without breaking a sweat, and when the highway got straight, the cruise control let me rest. The electronic suspension smoothed out all the bumps in the road near Rawang, and the wide seat kept my hips feeling good. I was too happy to think about the average fuel economy, which was about eighteen kilometres per litre, though. My only complaint is that the stock screen lets wind noise into my helmet above 120. In every other way, it's a perfectly balanced machine for Malaysian miles and daily trips.
