KUALA LUMPUR: The 4-day Malaysia Autoshow 2024 is in full swing at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang, with several new models on display. Suzuki Malaysia has also put its booth at the event, where you can find a bunch of exciting motorcycles, including the GSX-S1000GX.

Globally revealed at the EICMA 2023, this new Suzuki bike has generated a significant buzz among motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide. Let’s know it in detail.

The GSX-S1000GX is a sport-touring “crossover” that combines the sporty character of the GSX-S1000 with adventure-touring capabilities. It has a tall stance and a beefy subframe, ensuring durability and stability on various terrains.  

At the core of this Suzuki crossover is a 999-cc DOHC inline-four engine, which generates 152 hp of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and 106 Nm of peak torque at 9,250 rpm.

The GSX-S1000GX is the first Suzuki model equipped with the Suzuki Advanced Electronic Suspension (SAES), which electronically manages suspension damping and preload based on factors such as vehicle speed and road conditions. It features Hitachi Astemo's Showa EERA series suspension with electronically controlled forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Brembo monobloc 4-piston callipers handle the braking duties.

Along with that, the bike also features Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) with several advanced riding aids, including - 

• Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α)
• Smart TLR (Traction, Lift and Roll Torque)
• Control and Active Damping Control
• Suzuki Road Adaptive Stabilization (SRAS)
• Automatic Rear Suspension Modes
• Ride-by-wire Electronic Throttle System
• Bi-directional Quick Shift System
• Smart Cruise Control
• Motion Track Brake System
• Slope Dependent Control System
• Suzuki Easy Start System
• Low RPM Assist

As for the display of all riding-related info, the GSX-S1000GX comes kitted with a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT LCD that supports smartphone app content.

Other than the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX, Suzuki has also previewed the GSX-8R, 2024, and V-Strom 800 models at the show. All these exciting models are expected to go on sale in Malaysia later this year.
