2021 SYM Jet X 150 maxi-scooter launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Back in 2020, the official distributor of Benelli, SYM, and Keeway bikes in Malaysia, Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd announced that it would roll out a new urban SYM maxi-scooter in 2021. Keeping its promise, the company is here with the all-new SYM Jet X 150. It is now available at all MForce authorized distributors throughout the country in two variants - Standard and Special Edition (SE).

The SYM Jet X 150 price for the base variant starts at RM 8,888, while for the Special Edition, the Malaysian customers need to shell out RM 9,188. It is to be noted that the mentioned prices exclude registration, insurance, and road. Talking about the colour options, the company offers the Jet X 150 in three colours -Grey, Red, and Yellow, however for the SE variation, there is only a single colour on offer that is Chameleon Blue.

Moving on to the styling, the Jet X 150 design is quite exclusive and neat. The scooter gets a full suite of LED lighting with a fully digital LCD instrument panel that has an auto dimmer screen. Part of the kit is a smart key system with a burglar alarm and a USB charger socket that enables riders to charge their gadgets while on the go. 

Other key features of the SYM Jet X 150 are:

  • 18-litre capacity of under-seat storage
  • 7.5-litre fuel tank
  • 12V7Ah battery (free maintenance)
  • 780 mm of seat height
  • 107 mm of ground clearance

At the core of this sharp maxi-cooter lies a 149.6-cc single-cylinder fuel injection engine that churns out a maximum power of 12.3 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 12 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox and belt final drive sending power to the wheels.

On the suspension front, the scooter uses a telescopic-type suspension at the front, and fork and dual-adjustable shock absorbers at the back. The setup provides premium support and stability, as per the bike maker. 

The Yamaha NMax and Honda ADV 150 competitor rolls on 14-inches wheels wrapped in 100/90 tyres in front and a 110/80 on the rear. As for braking, it gets a 260 mm front single hydraulic disc and a 220 mm rear unit.

With every purchase of the new Jet X 150, the company offers a two-year or 20,000 km travel distance manufacturer's warranty and a genuine online parts purchase service by Mforce.
