KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier today, Triumph Malaysia announced the launch of the all-new Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer via its social media channel. Hailing from the adventurer-touring segment, this new addition to the Triumph family has a lot to offer - both performance- and feature-wise.

    Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer details

    The 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer sits on top of the brand's adventure-tourer segment and is offered in two variant options. The base model retails for RM 130,900, while the range-topping trim costs RM 1000 more, i.e., RM 131,900.

    While the base model is offered in Sapphire Black and Snowdonia White hues, the range-topping variant comes in Matte Khaki tone.

    Powertrain

    Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer engine

    Powering the 2022 Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer is a 1,160 cc inline-triple, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 12V mill generating maximum power of 148 hp at 9,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 130 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed transmission and shaft final drive.

    The new Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer comes with several riding aids, all aimed to offer the best experience to the rider. Part of the list is six riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Rider-configurable, Off-Road, and Off-Road Pro) with Optimised Cornering Traction Control, Triumph's Blind Spot Radar system (developed in partnership with Continental), Hill Hold, and Lane Change Assist.

    Ensuring a smooth ride at all times and on every terrain is the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer's superb suspension kit. It includes Showa 49 mm diameter upside-down semi-active damping forks at the front and a Showa mono-shock with semi-active damping and electronic preload adjustment at the rear. The suspension travel is the same at both ends at 220 mm.

    As for braking, it comes fitted with Brembo M4.30 Stylema monoblock radial callipers, OC-ABS, twin 320 mm floating discs at the front, and Brembo single-piston calliper, OC-ABS, single 282 mm disc. Rear master cylinder with a remote reservoir at the rear.
