2019 Audi A7 Sportback revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: After releasing a couple of teaser images, Audi has finally revealed the 2019 model of the A7 Sportback. With sharper designing and improved handling, Audi claims that the upcoming A7 Sportback is much better and fun to drive than the outgoing model. Just like any other updated model of Audi lineup, the 2018 A7 Sportback also rides on the MLB II Evo platform that has been specially designed by Volkswagen Auto Group’s high-end cars.

The front of updated A7 is bolder and grants an aggressive stance while the signature LED DRLs are sleeker and slimmer. The headlights are accompanied by ‘Singleframe’ grille and the overall setup is well accentuated with a distinct hood that features well-defined creases on the middle and the sides. Audi has designed something unique for each variant of A7 Sportback while the S line will be serving as the sportier version of this liftback. The side profile has been kept unchanged that reflects coupe-like shape with door-mounted side mirrors, and frameless windows.

It also gets a retractable spoiler that extends at 120 kmph and a flat strip joins the rear lights. This time, the German automaker has used chrome in a restricted manner for which the company is proud of. The cabin reflects a ‘reduced, and clean design language’ which is different from the rest of the company’s lineup. The dashboard is designed with curves at the middle and flat surface at the top that grants a unique appeal. Instead of a standing screen, Audi has infused the infotainment system in the dashboard with automatic climate control just below it. The overall setup is near to button-less, clearly a neat layout to operate.

Under the hood, a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 unit is equipped that has the potential to deliver a maximum power output of 340 PS and peak torque of 500 Nm. At the later stage, six- and four-cylinder engines will be also introduced. Even a hybrid version is scheduled that will be introduced in near future.
