GAC GS3 EMZOOM launched in Malaysia

The all-new 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom has launched in Malaysia. It is offered in two variants - Exclusive and Premium R, priced at RM 118,900 and RM 128,900. Both variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 engine producing 177 hp of maximum power and 270 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox, delivering power to the front wheels. The new GS3 EMZOOM competes with models like the Chery Omoda 5, Honda HR-V, and Proton X50. 

Peugeot 408 public debut on April 20

Ahead of launching next month, the long-awaited Peugeot 408 will make its first public appearance in Malaysia during the brand’s Sinar Raya open house event on April 20-21, 2024. Enthusiasts can experience the fastback crossover firsthand at various Peugeot showrooms and even place pre-bookings. The SUV will be available in three variants in the local market viz. Allure, Premium, and GT. All variants will share a 218 PS/300 Nm 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

10 new MG centres open in Malaysia

MG has expanded its footprint in Malaysia with the opening of 10 new dealerships across the country. Six of these dealerships are located in the Klang Valley, while two are in Johor, and one each in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. These outlets offer comprehensive services including sales, service, and spare parts, with one of the Johor dealerships providing body and paint repairs. The new dealerships showcase the brand’s newly launched models - MG4 and MG ZS EV.

Smart #1 secures III position in Malaysia's premium segment

The smart #1 has secured the third position in the premium EV segment above RM 180k. The success of the EV reflects the growing demand of the segment, which has seen a surge in sales from 3,079 units in 2022 to 11,624 units in 2023. The smart #1 achieved record-breaking sales of 100 vehicles within just one month of its launch, highlighting its appeal and advanced driving capabilities, particularly in its BRABUS variant known for superior performance.

SDAC Ford to organise thrilling Ford Ranger Getaways this month

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) is set to organise thrilling getaways for the Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor owners in Malaysia, offering off-road adventures and training. The company will organise the Ranger 4x4 Off-Road Course and Water Rafting Thrills in Perak on April 20, followed by the Sarawak 4x4 Training Academy (Sar4Trac) Beginner 4WD Course in Sarawak on April 27. Mazda CX-80 debuts in Europe

Mazda has unveiled the all-new CX-80 as its flagship three-row SUV for Europe. It joins the CX-90 as the brand's second model built on the Large Product Group platform. The CX-80 will be offered in two powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid system with a 2.5-liter inline-4 petrol engine and electric motor, offering a 60 km all-electric range. The other option is “e-SKYACTIV D” diesel mild hybrid setup featuring a 3.3-litre inline 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine.

Chery Omoda 7 teased ahead of Chinese debut 

Chery has released a teaser of its upcoming C-segment SUV, the Omoda 7, which is set to make its official premiere at Auto China in Beijing on April 28. Positioned as a larger alternative to the Omoda 5, it features a mature design with sharp headlights, wraparound tail lights, and flush pull-up door handles. It is  likely to share specifications with the Tiggo 7 Pro.

Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary package revealed

Ford is celebrating 60 years of the Mustang by introducing a special 60th Anniversary package for the iconic pony car. Limited to just 1,965 units worldwide, the model pays tribute to the original Mustang with retro design elements. It features 20-inch dark grey alloy wheels and vintage-inspired badges. Exclusive available in GT Premium spec, the special Mustang is powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine with 480 hp and 560 Nm of torque.

Toyota introduces Fortuner MHEV in South Africa

Toyota has introduced the Fortuner MHEV, a mild-hybrid version of the SUV, in South Africa. It shares technology with the Hilux MHEV and offers enhanced fuel efficiency with a 2.8-litre diesel engine and 48V mild-hybrid system. Paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the hybrid model is available in both 2WD and 4WD variants.
