XPENG G6

The cabin of the Xpeng G6 has a clean and futuristic-looking layout and is offered with both grey and black themes for the upholstery. This cabin of the Xpeng G6 looks tech-rich with the new-generation 10.2-inch screen for the instrument console and a 14.96-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The centre console has touch-sensitive controls for audio and climate control systems below the infotainment screen, with the multi-functional steering wheel also featuring additional touch-sensitive controls for audio and other voice command functions.

The cabin of the Xpeng G6 is generously equipped with new-age features like a heated steering wheel, an 18-speaker XOPERA surround sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control with an air purifier and rear AC vents, powered front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless chargers and a powered tailgate. 

The Xpeng G6 nails the most recent trend of SUV-coupe crossovers with its curvaceous and aerodynamic design. There is a wide, stretched daytime running LED light bar extending from end to end of the front fascia of the G6, with the electric crossover having lower-set headlamps with an auto-sensing feature within blacked pentagonal housings on the sides of the bumper. 

The coupe essence in the design of the Xpeng G6 is very evident from its curved roofline, with this electric crossover also having smooth contours for the fenders and door panels, flush-type door handles, and 20-inch machined alloy wheels for a more stylish and modern look. The rear profile of the Xpeng G6 has a minimalist-looking theme, comprising sleek LED tail lamps stretching from end to end in a wraparound manner. 

The Xpeng G6 has a conventional suspension setup on board, comprising a double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. For a more involving driving experience, this electric crossover features four driving modes – Standard, Eco, Sport and All-Terrain, along with four brake regeneration systems. The light steering wheel and plush suspension setup give it a comfortable ride quality and driving experience, though the light steering lacks feedback at higher speeds. 

Both the variants of the Xpeng G6 come with a rear-mounted electric motor, which churns out 255 bhp and 440 Nm in the Standard Range and 292 bhp and 440 Nm in the Long Range variants. This electric motor gives it a 0-100 kmph sprint time of 6.6 seconds in the Standard Range and 6.2 seconds in the Long Range. These two variants of the G6 also have different battery setups – 66kWh with a range of 435 km in the Standard Range and 87.5kWh with a range of 570 km in the Long Range.  

The sophisticated ADAS suite of Xpeng G6 operates with an NVIDIA Orin-X processor, five high-definition millimetre wave radars, six front and six rear ultrasonic sensors and 12 cameras all around. The ADAS package is divided into three categories here. The first one is XPILOT Driving, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane centring control, adaptive turning cruise control, active lane change and automatic speed limiter.

Then there is the XPILOT Parking suite, which has enhanced auto parking assist, auto exit parking assist, parking assist with a 360-degree camera and remote parking assist. Then there is the XPILOT Safety suite, which has driver state monitoring, forward distance monitoring, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, intelligent high beam, blind spot detection, door open warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, emergency lane keeping, rear collision warning and rear cross-traffic alert. 

The G6 also has other essentials, like six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors and an electronic parking brake. 

With sci-fi visual appeal in its futuristic exterior and interior, well-engineered battery and motor options and a long list of modern features, there is no lack of modernity in the overall packaging of Xpeng G6.
