KUALA LUMPUR: Just over a year after the XPENG G6 first landed in Malaysia, Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd has unveiled the updated 2025 XPENG G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What is the price of the 2025 XPENG G6 in Malaysia?
The 2025 XPENG G6 starts at RM178,888 for the RWD Long Range Pro, RM189,888 for the AWD Performance, and RM193,888 for the AWD Black Edition. What are the key differences between the new XPENG G6 and the 2024 model?
The 2025 G6 introduces AWD for the first time in Malaysia, adopts a new 80.5 kWh LFP battery with 12-minute ultra-fast charging, and features a redesigned interior with massage and reclining seats. It also gets new exterior touches like a Starlight LED light bar, Ducktail spoiler, and a Black Edition variant.Bookings are now open, with prices starting at RM178,888, a step up from the original 2024 model that began at RM165,820.

The XPENG G6 is a fully imported (CBU) model from China and will be offered in three variants:
- RWD Long Range Pro – RM178,888
- AWD Performance – RM189,888
- AWD Black Edition – RM193,888 (features gloss black 20-inch wheels, black brake calipers, and exclusive styling).

When the G6 debuted locally in 2024, buyers had only two rear-wheel drive options: the Standard Range (66 kWh LFP, 435 km WLTP) and Long Range (87.5 kWh NMC, 570 km WLTP). Both were competitive, but neither offered all-wheel drive.
That changes for 2025. The updated G6 arrives in three flavours: RWD Long Range Pro (RM178,888), AWD Performance (RM189,888), and the AWD Black Edition (RM193,888). This marks the first time Malaysian buyers can opt for dual-motor AWD, giving the G6 stronger traction and positioning it closer to rivals that already offer all-wheel drive options.

Battery tech is where the new G6 takes a big leap. The 2024 model split its packs between 66 kWh LFP (Standard Range) and 87.5 kWh NMC (Long Range). For 2025, XPENG has streamlined the setup: all variants now use a next-generation 80.5 kWh LFP pack, the first in the world with 5C charging capability.
The result? The G6 now charges from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes at up to 451 kW peak power. That’s a big improvement over last year’s 20-minute charge times (at max 280 kW).
The trade-off, however, is range. While the outgoing Long Range could manage up to 570 km WLTP, the new battery tops out at 525 km WLTP. XPENG argues the faster charging more than makes up for the drop, especially for long-distance use.

Visually, the 2024 G6 already carried the coupe-SUV silhouette that drew comparisons with a certain American EV. The 2025 version refines that with details that make it look sharper and more upmarket.
Among the changes: a new Starlight Wing LED light bar with integrated turn signals, a Ducktail-style rear spoiler that improves stability, and body-coloured wheel arches (replacing the old black cladding). The XPENG logo has been shifted from the bonnet to the hood and finished in matte grey for a cleaner look.

Interior overhaul: From functional to luxurious
One of the other biggest leaps is on the inside. The 2024 G6 already offered leatherette upholstery, powered seats with ventilation, and a sizeable 14.96-inch central screen running on the Snapdragon 8155 chip.
But the 2025 model transforms more than 60% of the cabin. Dubbed the Super Star-Ring Interior Design, it introduces a minimalist dashboard, capacitive steering wheel, ambient lighting, and two new colour themes (Dark Gray and Light Gray).

A new panoramic star sunroof replaces the older plain glass roof, making the cabin feel more spacious and premium.

Both generations of the G6 come with advanced driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and automated parking. But the new version upgrades the suite with a MicroFiber capacitive steering wheel and a next-gen driving chip for clearer, longer-range perception.
XPENG also focused on battery safety. The 2025 G6’s pack is encased in ballistic-grade armour, able to withstand 1,000°C heat and side crush forces of 80 tonnes. XPENG claims battery lifespan is extended by 30%, a clear improvement over the already-robust outgoing model.

During the launch, Dato’ Francis Lee, Group CEO of Bermaz Auto Berhad, highlighted the brand’s approach:
“On the global stage, XPENG is redefining design, intelligence, and the driving experience. The EV industry is moving faster than ever before, and AI is reshaping everything. What has not changed is XPENG’s vision to build differently as an EV pioneer with AI in its DNA. XPENG is not a traditional player in the automotive industry. Its differentiation lies in having AI at its core, from robots to autonomous driving vehicles, to flying cars, and ultimately leading to embodied intelligence. This, XPENG believes, will lead to a better life for all. For Malaysian consumers, more models with strong AI capabilities will be coming to our shores soon.”
