Denza B8: Variants explained - Dynamic vs Premium – Which one should you choose?

Denza has carved its space in the luxury cars segment in Malaysia with the well-received D9 MPV. Building on that momentum, the automaker has now introduced its second premium offering in the local market, the B8, aimed at further strengthening its presence in Malaysia's growing electrified-vehicle market.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much does the Denza B8 cost?

The Denza B8 price ranges from RM 459,939 to RM 519,939.
  • What makes the Denza B8 Dynamic and Premium variants different?

While both variants share the same mechanical setup, exterior and dimensions, the main difference lies in the seating configuration and comfort features. The Premium is a six-seater with second-row captain seats, while the Dynamic is a seven-seater with a bench seat in the second row.
  • The Denza B8 is a three-row boxy SUV featuring BYD’s latest electrified technology platform, a smart suspension setup, and a luxury cabin experience. Notably, it is a rebadged version of the Bao 8, sold under the Fangchengbao brand in China.

Denza Malaysia offers the B8 in two variants - Dynamic (7-seater) and Premium (6-seater). If you are wondering which variant is right for you, this article is for you. Here, we compare the SUV’s two variants in detail to help prospective buyers make an informed decision.

Size-wise, both variants share the same footprint, same height and same approach and departure angles. Notably, the DiSus-P hydraulic suspension, an intelligent hydraulic body control system, offers 140 mm of ride height adjustment, boosting the wading depth from 800 mm to 890 mm and increasing approach and departure angles to 34 and 35 degrees.

The only difference lies in the boot space, where the Dynamic model offers a slightly larger capacity over the Premium one, which is likely due to captain seats placement in the latter.

Which Denza B8 variant should you choose?

Choosing between the B8 Dynamic and B8 Premium ultimately comes down to your preferences. Both variants share the same dimensions, same engine, same performance, same exterior and same safety suite. This means that by paying an additional RM 60k premium, you mainly get a more premium business lounge-style cabin with enhanced comfort features. If that matters to you, go for the Premium, but if not, the Dynamic is the smarter choice.
