About Kia Malaysia

Kia Malaysia brings a new beat to the automotive industry via its ever-vibrant line-up. The automaker strives to make its customers more productive every day with its versatile range that includes hatchback, sedans, crossovers, MPV, and van. At present, Kia Malaysia manages 36 centres wherein the customer can go for new cars, used cars, aftersales, service, business sales, and mobility.

In Malaysia, Naza Group is the franchise holder of Kia Motors. Initially, it marketed rebadged version of Kia's Picanto, Carnival, Carens vehicles as Naza Suria, Naza Ria, and Naza Citra, respectively, for the Malaysian market. In May 2006 was introduced Naza 206 Bestari, Naza's version of the Peugeot 206, then in November 2006, Naza Picanto was introduced, the Naza badged version of the Picanto.

By the year 2001, Naza Group became a full-fledged automobile assembler, and it introduced the Spectra. Many locally assembled models like the Sportage, Ria MPV, and the Sorento soon became market leaders in respective segments. Taking into account the high demand for locally-assembled units, Naza, in September 2002, started the construction work of its very own manufacturing plant. In 2006, Naza Kia Academy (NKA) was established in Gurun, Kedah, it offers sales and after-sales training to employees in developmental and technical-related programs. In 2009, NKA started offering executive diplomas in the manufacturing management and automotive management process.

Currently, Kia Malaysia is busy expanding its lineup in the country. Recently, Kia Seltos was previewed in the country, and the car is expected to launch soon. It is suspected to arrive in two trim levels - standard and GT Line. The car will feature LED headlights, fog lamps, and taillights, a 3.5-inch or 7-inch instrument cluster display, passive cruise control, manual or automatic air-con system, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and keyless start.

In September 2019, Kia Cerato was spotted fully camouflaged in the country. The new Cerato displays a more dynamic design with sweptback headlights, tiger-nose grille, sweeping glasshouse, longer bonnet, and a short tail. Inside, the sedan features a floating infotainment screen and a horizontal dashboard.

In May 2019, Kia introduced two additional variants of the Picanto hatch - the entry-level Picanto KX and the X-Line. The same 1.2-litre Kappa II powers both the trims naturally-aspirated 4-cyl engine that makes 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The mill is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.

Kia Malaysia is known for its stylish cars that are packed with smart features. Also, with its new launches and facelifts, it keeps the prospective buyers excited for its products.

Firdaus Jan 19, 2021 for Kia Stinger

Well, Kia stringer is a near-premium hatchback as compared to other premium cars. But, the handsome and stylish appearance on the outside and the comfort you get inside makes this car amazing. This hatchback has a fastback roofline and the trio of turbocharged engine for a powerful boost when you turn on this beast. Even with an entry level engine, Read More 2

The only existing hatchback with 17 inch wheels makes Kia Rio the most uniquely built cars among the most popular cars. The newly added 1368 cc engine is of the kappa family which is way efficient and powerful than the previously used gamma engine. You also get a 4-speed transmission along with a powerful engine that provides a good amount Read More 2

Firash Dis 24, 2020 for Kia Sportage

Like all Kia cars, the Sportage too comes with a number of features. It’s a reasonably agile vehicle in its class. Seating on both rows is spacious and comfortable but could have been better. Regarding the features, many of them can be found in higher priced Lexus models. The touchscreen navigation unit is easy to use. I particularly like the Read More 81

Zuljalal Dis 24, 2020 for Kia Optima

I recently drove a 2020 Kia Optima and the experience was mixed. While the car has attractive styling, its performance and mileage are rather average. The Optima offers a controlled and comfortable ride. It even handles bumpy roads with ease. Sedan drivers rarely take their cars to challenge the limits. The Optima has excellent safety ratings. The automated emergency braking Read More 25

"Raahim " Dis 24, 2020 for Kia Cerato

Pleasant and driving comfort makes the Kia Cerato a nice entry-level sedan. But the 2.0-litre powertrain is a bit sluggish. I read somewhere that the new model is 19kg heavier than its previous version. This is probably the reason why the Cerato doesn’t have a good fuel economy in its class. The suspension too is rather hard. While that makes Read More 71
