  • About Kia Malaysia

Kia Malaysia brings a new beat to the automotive industry via its ever-vibrant line-up. The automaker strives to make its customers more productive every day with its versatile range that includes hatchback, sedans, crossovers, MPV, and van. At present, Kia Malaysia manages 36 centres wherein the customer can go for new cars, used cars, aftersales, service, business sales, and mobility.

In Malaysia, Naza Group is the franchise holder of Kia Motors. Initially, it marketed rebadged version of Kia's Picanto, Carnival, Carens vehicles as Naza Suria, Naza Ria, and Naza Citra, respectively, for the Malaysian market. In May 2006 was introduced Naza 206 Bestari, Naza's version of the Peugeot 206, then in November 2006, Naza Picanto was introduced, the Naza badged version of the Picanto.

By the year 2001, Naza Group became a full-fledged automobile assembler, and it introduced the Spectra. Many locally assembled models like the Sportage, Ria MPV, and the Sorento soon became market leaders in respective segments. Taking into account the high demand for locally-assembled units, Naza, in September 2002, started the construction work of its very own manufacturing plant. In 2006, Naza Kia Academy (NKA) was established in Gurun, Kedah, it offers sales and after-sales training to employees in developmental and technical-related programs. In 2009, NKA started offering executive diplomas in the manufacturing management and automotive management process.

Currently, Kia Malaysia is busy expanding its lineup in the country. Recently, Kia Seltos was previewed in the country, and the car is expected to launch soon. It is suspected to arrive in two trim levels - standard and GT Line. The car will feature LED headlights, fog lamps, and taillights, a 3.5-inch or 7-inch instrument cluster display, passive cruise control, manual or automatic air-con system, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and keyless start.

In September 2019, Kia Cerato was spotted fully camouflaged in the country. The new Cerato displays a more dynamic design with sweptback headlights, tiger-nose grille, sweeping glasshouse, longer bonnet, and a short tail. Inside, the sedan features a floating infotainment screen and a horizontal dashboard.

In May 2019, Kia introduced two additional variants of the Picanto hatch - the entry-level Picanto KX and the X-Line. The same 1.2-litre Kappa II powers both the trims naturally-aspirated 4-cyl engine that makes 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The mill is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.

Kia Malaysia is known for its stylish cars that are packed with smart features. Also, with its new launches and facelifts, it keeps the prospective buyers excited for its products.

    • Not an appealing choice

The Kia Grand Carnival boasts innovative exterior features such as automatic door unlocking and driver-assisted screen cameras. However, it has a few practical problems like poorly placed controls, limited passenger legroom, and disappointing driving performance during winters due to the Continental tires. Other drawbacks include middle-row seats that are non-removable and limit cargo flexibility. Another thing that frustrates me is

    • Very unreliable and severe transmission issues

I traded my Audi last November for the Kia Sorento and loved it initially. However, my experience got worse when the car started experiencing transmission issues just after a few months of the ownership. I have covered only 500 miles on this vehicle and I cant even expect such issues. Another problem I faced was that the engine light came

    • All electric three row SUV car from Kia brand

Before checking this Kia car, I was under an impression that all electric versions are only available in mini-SUVs, pickups and sedans. But this three row SUV completely changed my perception. The model is available either in all wheel or rear wheel driving system. I found its third row quite a utilitarian space in the model and is appropriate for

    • Iconic styling, excellent fit and finish

I purchased the Kia EV6 last June and have covered around 4000 miles without any issues. With this vehicle, I had the best car ownership experience. The interior technology, fit, and finish of the Kia EV6 rivals our Mercedes. It offers impressive acceleration and exceptional comfort both during short and long drives. I also love its reclining capabilities and superior

    • Offers enjoyable electric driving experience

Last year, I purchased the Kia Niro EV and with it, I turned into reality my decade-long dream of owning an electric vehicle. Its interior is very spacious surpassing other rivals in its segment. It caters to all my needs perfectly. The Niro EV has also impressed me with its comprehensive standard features. I must say it offers exceptional value
