About Chery Malaysia
Read MoreEstablished in 1997, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. is a more recent addition to the automobile market. It’s headquartered in Wuhu, Anhui, China, and is famous for its passenger cars, SUVs, and minivans. As per the reports in 2012, the brand is the ninth-largest China-based manufacturer.
It started building in the year 1999 with the Fengyun. The car made record-breaking sales with a total of 30,000 units. In 2003, it began producing the QQ city car, Cowin subcompact sedan, and the Easter mid-size sedan in 2003. Since then, the company has been the largest passenger car exporter of China.
The brand was a success story with its initial vehicle offering. Following the success of its first two cars, the brand released the A5 compact sedan and the Tiggo crossover after two years. The brand has been aggressively exporting its products to more than 30 countries in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia.
In terms of Malaysia, an assembling factory of Chery models has been opened in Johor Bahru. There are two cars in Malaysia and both of these are MPV. The lower-priced model is Easter, which sells at RM 81,502. While the highest priced model is the Maxime at RM 91,126. Talking about its sales figures, the brand has seen a jump in its sales besides its presence on the global platform.
