About BMW Malaysia

Besides, the group provides premium mobility and finance services. In Malaysia, BMW Group Malaysia is the representative of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG. It looks after the wholesale of BMW, Mini, BMW i, and BMW Motorrad vehicles, accessories, and spare parts. In addition, it manages overall sales planning, after-sale, and marketing activities in the country.
BMW Malaysia’s dealership network includes 39 outlets. Apart from this, the organisation’s presence in the country is felt via its National Sales Centre (NSC) in Cyberjaya, BMW Group Data Centre, BMW Group Regional Traning Centre, BMW Group Parts Distribution Centre.
Inokom Corporation is the licensed contract assembler for BMW passenger vehicles in Malaysia. In 2008, when Sime Darby acquired Inokom, it led to the assembly of BMW models at the Inokom plant. Before that, BMW vehicles were assembled at the Associated Motor Industries plant in Shah Alam. In 2018, the production of locally assembled BMW engines commenced, while the export of Inokom manufactured BMW models began in 2019.
At present, the BMW Malaysia lineup includes 22 vehicles, some of which are fairly new like the BMW 3 Series Sedan, BMW 7 Series Sedan, and BMW X1. In addition, the BMW 8 Series Coupe, BMW X2, BMW X7, BMW M2 Competition, BMW i3s, and BMW i8 Roadster are a few segment popular picks.
Recently, BMW Malaysia released the revised price list across the board that is valid until December 31, 2020. The German automaker also announced a more extended warranty for plug-in hybrid battery present in its PHEV models. The upgraded 6+2 years PHEV battery extended warranty programme benefits cars like the BMW 530e (Sport and M Sport trim levels) and BMW 740Le LCI.
In recent times BMW Malaysia introduced several programmes benefiting the customer experience. The automaker entered the second round of its child seat subsidy programme that targeted parents in B40 income group and offered child seats at a discounted price. In April 2020, BMW Shop Online and BMW Engage were launched lately, making online shopping seamless experience for new buyers. The brand also introduced Apple CarPlay Preparation that offers four different ties to choose from, and its first six-month usage is free.
