BMW iX2

The BMW iX2 is available with five choices of Vagenza perforated leather upholsteries, including M Alcantara, Corel Red and Black, Black, Mocha, and Atlas Grey with Smoke White, all of which come with aluminium hexacube pale M interior trim as standard.

Much of the cabin layout of the BMW iX2 has been shared with the iX1, including the star highlight – the BMW live cockpit professional comprising of a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console and a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

With an M leather multi-functional steering wheel and powered front sport seats, the cabin of the iX2 also has slim AC vents, with those of the centre console slightly tilted towards the driver’s side. Other premium features of the BMW iX2 include a head-up display, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging, ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents and a memory function for the driver’s seat. 

The overall styling of the BMW iX2 is a radical departure from its previous-generation model. The new-generation version has a more dynamic SUV-coupe stance, in line with the X4. Much of the design elements of the BMW iX1 have been inspired by the BMW iX1, on which it is based, along with other more premium SUVs from BMW.

The BMW iX2's front profile features sweptback adaptive LED headlamps with dual arrowhead-shaped LED DRLs. The closed iconic glow-illuminated dual kidney grille has tapered sides, while the front bumper has a sporty-looking air dam and air vents. The BMW iX2 comes with the M Sport package as standard, which features a high-gloss Shadowline black finish for the front radiator grille, mirror caps, and tailgate logo. 

As a part of the M Sport package, the BMW iX2 also gets 20-inch M V-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels in its side profile, which now features a more SUV-coupe-ish essence in its design with a sloping roofline. It shares its flap-type door handles with the iX1, but gets more muscular and aerodynamic fenders. The rear profile of the iX2 has its own identity with a large combination LED tail lamps and a raked rear windscreen.

Apart from the battery and motor setup, the BMW iX2 also shares the suspension setup with the more affordable iX1, which includes a single-joint spring strut at the front and a three-link axle at the rear. The iX2 has been provided with adaptive M suspension with frequency selective damping, which makes the overall driving experience more engaging and precise. 

The BMW iX2 is powered by the fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology powertrain, which has been shared with the iX1. Featuring a dual-motor setup, the BMW iX2 claims a maximum power output of 313 bhp and a maximum torque output of 494 Nm, while paired with a single-speed transmission.

This electric motor propels the BMW iX2 to 100 kmph from a standstill in 5.6 seconds, while claiming a top speed of 180 kmph. The 66.5kWh battery pack of the iX2 is capable of delivering a maximum range of 449 km (WLTP-certified).

The BMW iX2 comes packed with a variety of advanced safety features under the Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistance Plus packages that are offered as standard.

While the Driving Assistant Plus package consists of steering and lane control assistant, speed limit info, automatic speed limit assist, lane departure warning, and active cruise control with stop-and-go function, the Parking Assistant Plus package has active park distance control, reversing assistant, lateral parking aid, 360-degree parking camera, drive recorder and remote theft recorder.

Besides these safety features, the iX2 also has six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and hill hold assist.
