Introduction
The BRZ is a stylish sports coupe that is produced by the Toyota partnered Japanese manufacturer Subaru. The name of BRZ is derived from the three elements including Boxer engine, Rear-wheel drive and Zenith. This 2-door sports car is the only rear wheel drive in Subaru's stead and is powered with the legendary high tech SUBARU BOXER engine which delivers the thrill of being connected with your vehicle. Additionally, the Japanese automaker has also launched special editions of BRZ for the United States and Australian auto markets.

In a growing economy, the attention of customers is turning towards the new-generation SUBARU BOXER engine which brings new heights of precision and excitement. This is the first engine of its type to propose direct and port fuel injection technology which improves both its responsiveness and fuel consumption with an impressive figure of 7.1 l/100km owing its a sports car. This 2.0-litre petrol engine has the capacity of producing a laudable 200 PS at 7000 rpm, along with generous max torque of 205 Nm between 6400 to 6600 rpm. The rear-wheel drive improves the car's handling and cornering which Subaru is known for. It has a top speed of 233 km/h with an impressive 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in 7.6 seconds.
Exteriors
The new BRZ has shown noticeable transformations in comparison to its older editions. Its makers have tried to give it a more appealing look than its predecessors attracting large number of coupe enthusiasts in Malaysia towards the brand. Its aerodynamic body work isn’t just for looks, but also to give it a sophisticated facade. The equipped HID headlamps with Auto Levelizer improves the clarity and accentuates the attractive design of the latest Subaru BRZ. The distinctive and lightweight 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels (tyre size 215/45 R17) helps in reducing its unsprung weight and sharpens its handling. Being a coupe, the Subaru BRZ offers plenty of space comprising of specific dimensions measuring 4240mm x 1775mm x 1425mm (L x W x H), with a wheelbase of 2570 mm.
Interiors
Subaru BRZ has kept the interiors very basic and simple owing to its sports car DNA. The dashboard of the BRZ is fitted with powerful 6-speaker audio system which consists of a variety of input options including CD, USB and an AUX interface to play your music through the vehicle’s audio system. However, the real music comes straight from the twin exhausts once this car revs up. Available with high-quality leather trim and grippy Alcantara inserts, featuring a lowered seating position the BRZ takes comfort to the next level. Moreover, the BRZ is provided with push start button, dual-zone air conditioning and paddle shifters that enables the driver to execute crisp shifts with fingertips. With its folding rear seats, this coupe provides enough room for a set of racing tyres or two golf bags. With the rear seats up, its boot space is a moderate 243 litres.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous
Appointed with number of safety features, the new Subaru BRZ keeps you safe and secure during the ride. Its active and passive safety aspects include 6-Airbag system (Front, side and curtain), vehicle dynamic control system improving the vehicle’s stability, 4 sensor or 4 channel ABS with EBD and BA preventing wheels from locking up while braking and ISOFIX child seat anchors with tether anchors to secure your child. Ventilated disc brakes for both front and rear wheels are present that enhances vehicle’s braking system effectively. For better suspension, this coupe is employed with McPherson struts (front) and double wishbone (rear) providing smoother ride and better handling.
Verdict
Consequently, the sleek styling, rear-wheel drive and distinct handling makes this coupe one of the most appealing and responsive coupes. However, its not the fastest one in its class and also has frugal interior design.
