BMW M3 Competition

On the inside, the entire layout of the cabin of the BMW M3 Competition is very much similar to that of the 3-series sedan, which was frankly very much expected as well. The sedan has been crafted with a few radical design elements, of which the front end draws some polarized opinions about it and might not be liked by all. The front fascia of the BMW M3 Competition has got the huge vertically laid double kidney grille, which is paired with sleek full laser headlamps, the design of which has been shared with those on regular 3-series sedans. The horizontal M typical double louvers and front splitter further make the BMW M3 Competition look even more dynamic.

The side profile of the BMW M3 Competition is completely retained from that of the 3-series sedan. However, the big differentiating factor here is large 19-20 inch wheels. The unique feature of the side profile of the M3 Competition has to be the air scoops recessed in the front fender, which matches the sporty aura of the car.

At the back too, the similarity of the regular 3-series sedan and M3 Competition is affirmed by the sleek-looking LED tail lamps. However, the BMW M3 Competition makes itself look the bossier of the two with its re-profiled rear bumper, which comes with different-looking exhaust tips, sportier rear splitter, and thin gloss black boot-mounted spoiler. BMW has further managed to make the M3 Competition look niche with carbon fiber reinforced plastic roofs and mirrors.

BMW has made the M3 Competition available in a host of color options to choose from – 13 paint options to be precise.

The list of advanced technological features in the BMW M3 Competition consists of M Setup in the live cockpit to set vehicle’s dynamic setup, M specific braking system with ‘comfort’ and ‘sport’ modes, head-up display, and M Mode button for configuring vehicle characteristics. All these come together to make the whole driving experience even better.

Powering the BMW M3 Competition is an engine that matches the tradition of making the M3 a truly driver’s car – a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine. Available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard, the engine is punchy enough to make 510 bhp of maximum power and 650 Nm of maximum torque. The top speed of the BMW M3 Competition is electronically restricted to 250 kmph, which can be lifted up to 290 kmph on special request.

Being a special and expensive car, expecting top-notch safety features from the BMW M3 Competition is a given thing. The BMW M3 Competition ticks all the right boxes of expectations and comes with features like M Laptimer, M Drift Analyzer, M Track mode, 10-level M Traction Control, steering, and lane control assistant, emergency stop assistant, lane-keeping assistant, active side collision protection, 360-degree panorama view camera, and active park assist.

There is no denying the fact that this new BMW M3 Competition is the most technologically advanced version of the M3 produced ever. While the front design might take some time to get used to, the BMW M3 Competition continues to live up to its core strengths of performance and driving dynamics.
