Denza Z9GT gets new Fjord Green colour, Ultra-fast Flash Charging coming soon to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Denza has introduced a new exterior colour option for its all-electric luxury grand tourer, the Z9GT. It is now available with a new Fjord Green shade, joining the existing Rime Gold and Obsidian Black.

The new Fjord Green shade can be paired with a Perg Beige interior, an all-Black interior featuring suede seats with yellow stitching, or a Red Velvet interior.

As a quick recap, the Denza Z9GT is offered in a single fully imported variant, priced from RM 358,800 (excluding registration, insurance, and road tax).

Built on the e3 Platform, the vehicle incorporates a number of world-first and class-leading functions, based on four core technologies: three-motor independent drive, active rear wheel steering, cell-to-body battery integration, and vehicle motion control.

The EV comes powered by a tri-motor setup that generates a whopping combined power of 1,156 PS and a peak torque of 1,210 Nm, enabling the EV to run from zero to 100 kmph in 2.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 240 kmph. It is mated to a 122.49 kWh second-gen BYD Blade LFP battery pack, delivering a WLTP-claimed driving range of 600 km. 

The battery runs on a 1,000 V architecture and supports the game-changing BYD Megawatt Flash Charging tech, which is coming soon to Malaysia.

The ultra-fast DC chargers operate at up to 1,500 kW and follow the principle of 'Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3,' based on their standout recharging times, which means the battery takes -

• 5 minutes for 10% to 70%
• 9 minutes for 10% to 97%
• 12 minutes for 20% to 97%, in conditions as cold as -30°C, which can drastically reduce charging speeds

To make this happen, the automaker has signed a memorandum of understanding with Gentari to identify suitable locations for the high-power EV chargers, which could include routes connecting major population centres, where shorter charging stops would be useful for longer journeys. Initial BYD Flash Charging will be available at selected Denza showrooms.

This marks an important step in strengthening Malaysia’s EV charging infrastructure and making electric mobility more convenient for our customers,” said Jacob Ma, MD of BYD Malaysia.

“As EV adoption continues to grow, charging infrastructure must keep pace. Through our collaboration with local partners, we aim to make high-power charging more accessible while continuing to develop local capabilities, including training and upskilling local technicians to support the growth of Malaysia’s EV ecosystem,” he added.

The Denza Z9GT sprayed with the new Fjord Green is now available to view at all Denza showrooms across Malaysia.
