KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai took full control of its brand presence in Malaysia in 2025 and introduced three new SUVs (Santa Fe, Tucson and Staria) as part of a renewed commitment. Well, this year, the Korean brand achieved a new milestone by bringing its world-class performance EVs, the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N, to Malaysian roads.

Built on the aerodynamic Ioniq 6 Streamliner platform, the Ioniq 6 N is touted as “The Secret Supercar Sedan” that bridges the gap between conventional performance cars and electrification. It combines advanced aerodynamics, strong performance, smart battery tech and advanced suspension systems to deliver an impressive mix of speed, stability and comfort, which sets new benchmarks in the automotive world.
Aggressive design with an aerodynamic edge
Designed for performance, the sedan boasts motorsport-inspired exterior design elements that have been sculpted to make a powerful statement. Aerodynamic enhancements like swan-neck rear wing and widened fenders offer increased downforce while achieving an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.27Cd. Ensuring agile cornering handling are 20-inch forged lightweight wheels.

The electric sedan is equipped with a dual-motor setup, where the front motor delivers 223 hp while the rear one makes 378 hp. Together, the setup kicks out a maximum power of 609 PS and a peak torque of 740 Nm. With the help of N Grin Boost, the power can increase up to 650 PS and 750 Nm.
The EV accelerates from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, which positions it in serious performance territory, competing with many established high-performance EVs. The top speed is rated at 257 kmph.
Feeding the dual-motor setup is an 84 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which offers a WLTP-claimed driving range of 487 km. Charging is supported via 10.5 kW AC charging, which takes approximately 7.5 hours for a 10-100% charge, while a 350 kW DC fast charger can juice up the battery from 10-80% in 18 minutes only.

- N e-Shift: It provides a unique shift feeling and driving sensibility just like ICE-powered vehicles.
- N Launch Control: It ensures maximum traction and blazing fast take-off from a standstill by automatically modulating the motor torque to achieve optimal wheel slip.
- N Active Sound +: Powered by an upgraded Acoustic Design Processor, this feature can customise driving sound profiles - Ignition, Evolution, Lightspeed. With the help of this, the EV can mimic the sound of a 2.0-litre turbo engine or even a fighter jet.
- N Grin Boost: It offers maximum power increase and maximised motor responsiveness for overtaking.
- N Drift Optimiser: It provides individual-level control for customizable drift settings - Initiation (RTO) / Angle (ESC) / Wheel Spin (TCS).

- N Brake Regen: It provides up to 0.6G regenerative braking to reduce brake wear, with 0.35G regen even when ABS is active.

- N Torque Distribution: It provides fully variable front and rear torque distribution that can be adjusted to 11 levels.
- TPMS Custom Mode: It allows the driver to set the target tyre pressure at their convenience.
- N Track Manager: it provides real-time lap timing, speed data analysis, custom track creation, and ghost car visuals.
Retuned chassis
To make the EV more enjoyable around corners, Hyundai has added 44 more weld points and 340 mm of adhesive compared to the standard model. It has improved steering response and reduced body vibration for better handling and ride comfort.
Other upgrades include a reinforced cowl crossbar and added subframe mounting to increase torsional stiffness by 19.8%. Hyundai has also reinforced the front suspension lower arm input point to enhance high-performance.
