    New Proton e.MAS 7

The first model on the list is a new iteration of Malaysia’s first-ever national EV, the e.MAS 7. Proton teased the arrival of its new electric SUV on its social media channels last week, with no official confirmation of specifications. However, the industry reports suggest the upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 may get a bigger battery pack (68.39 kWh), offering a slightly higher driving range of 475 km, up from 410 km (on the WLTP cycle), to address one of the biggest concerns among local EV customers. The new variant may get minor software updates or convenience features, enhancing the ownership experience.

    New Perodua sedan concept

Perodua will also be putting up its booth at the KLIMS 2026 event, and is expected to showcase a new concept model, previewing “what’s next in creating a more connected, sustainable future for Malaysia.” While no official details have been revealed yet, the social media teaser outlines the side silhouette of a sedan, hinting at the next-gen Perodua Bezza. However, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Perodua president and CEO, earlier said that the existing Bezza may remain on sale till 2030, which means the wait for a new model may be longer.

    Honda Prelude

Next on the list is the Honda Prelude. Shown in concept form at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024, this two-door coupe is expected to make its official launch at the 2026 event. Honda previewed the production-ready Prelude in April this year, followed by a test drive session at the Sepang International Circuit in May. Powering the upcoming Honda model is a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a two-motor hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 203 PS and 315 Nm and a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of 8.2 seconds.

    New Mazda CX-5

The all-new third-gen Mazda CX is finally ready to hit the local shores. Bermaz Auto has announced that the new CX-5 will make its Malaysian debut at the KLIMS 2026, along with the CX-60 3.3G AWD. The next-gen Mazda CX-5 features sharper styling & Kodo design evolution, bigger dimensions, and a premium cabin with more space, a bigger display, and OTA updates. Under the hood, we can expect a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four engine mated to a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic gearbox driving the front wheels.

    Hyundai N Series

Hyundai is also one of the participating brands of the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show, where it will reintroduce its Hyundai N performance brand. The brand’s N lineup will include - Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N performance EVs, representing the pinnacle of Hyundai’s performance engineering, rooted in the brand’s motorsport heritage.

The Ioniq 5 N is a track-bred, road-ready performance EV, built on a track-tuned chassis and features an N-specific drivetrain setup, delivering a maximum power of 650 PS and a range of 448 km. The Ioniq 6 N offers a more refined dynamic character with an aggressive 650 PS output and 487 km WLTP range. Bookings for the Hyundai N models are already underway in Malaysia, with an estimated price starting from RM 450,000 for the Ioniq 5 N and RM 460,000 for the Ioniq 6 N.

    Zeekr 9X

The KLIMS 2026 is also expected to welcome Zeekr’s flagship SUV, the 9X. Globally introduced at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the Zeekr 9X is a plug-in hybrid SUV that stands out in its segment with a range of advanced cutting-edge features, including dual 16-inch screens, a 47-inch AR head-up display, a 17-inch rear ceiling display, Cloud Lounge seats, a 6.3-inch removable OLED rear centre console, and an AI voice assistant. It runs on a 279 PS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and three electric motors, producing a combined output of 1,400 PS and 1,410 Nm.

    MG IM6 EV

MG’s premium sub-brand IM (Intelligence in Motion) will be making its first appearance in Malaysia at the upcoming event. The company will showcase the all-electric premium coupe SUV, the IM6, which competes against the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7, and Xpeng G6 in the global market. In Thailand, it is offered in RWD and AWD trims, paired with 75 kWh and 100 kWh lithium-ion NMC batteries, offering an NEDC-rated range of 550 km and 634 km, respectively. Key highlights include a large 26.3-inch panoramic display, air suspension, four-wheel steering, a one-touch automated parking system, and 800V architecture.

    Kia EV5

Kia Sales Malaysia will bring three brand-new EVs to the upcoming auto show, with social media postings pointing to the EV4, EV5, and PV5. While official confirmation is yet to come, the Kia EV5 is the most likely of the three to hit the local shores in the near future, considering its presence in two SEA markets (Thailand and the Philippines). It is a five-seat electric SUV that is offered in FWD and AWD trims in Thailand; the former comes paired with a 64.2 kWh battery giving around 490 km of range, while the latter is equipped with an 88.1 kWh battery with a driving range of up to 665 km.

    New Nissan model (likely X-Trail)

Another showstopper model to watch out for at the Kuala Lumpur auto show is Nissan’s mystery model. The automaker recently dropped a teaser on its social media, showcasing a vehicle hidden under a black cover. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it could be the next-gen X-Trail e-POWER, previewed at the recently concluded Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). The Philippine-spec model runs on a dual-motor electric motor setup, paired with a 1.2-litre inline-three gasoline engine, generating up to 204 hp and 525 Nm of torque.

    Jetour G700

Globally revealed at the Shanghai Auto Show last year, the Jetour G700 will be taking centre stage at Jetour Auto Malaysia’s booth at KLIMS 2026, along with Jetour T1. The G700 is a luxury hybrid off-road SUV that comes in six- and seven-seater configurations in China. The China-spec model Jetour G700 is powered by a plug-in hybrid drivetrain combining a 2.0TD engine and two electric motors, generating a combined system power of 904 PS and a peak torque of 1135 Nm. The PHEV comes equipped with a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, a full-time electric 4WD system, and a 34.13kWh battery, supporting fast-charging at 800V.

So, these are the top showstopper cars you can not miss at the upcoming 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show.
