The upgraded Proton e.MAS 7 is expected to feature a larger battery pack and higher driving range, while retaining its existing drivetrain setup.Proton e.MAS dropped a dark teaser video of the new e.Mas 7 on its social media handles yesterday, announcing that the full reveal is just eight days away. This confirms that the covers will be lifted at the upcoming KLIMS 2026.

Larger battery pack with longer driving range
Proton is likely to increase the capacity of the Aegis short blade LFP battery from 60.22 kWh to 68.39 kWh, offering a slightly higher driving range of 475 km, up from 410 km (on the WLTP cycle). This additional range can address one of the biggest concerns among local EV buyers and strengthen the e.MAS 7’s position in its segment.
Performance expected to remain unchanged
There are no hints yet available on performance improvements, which suggests that the new Proton e.MAS 7 will get the same front-wheel-drive motor, producing a maximum power of 215 hp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. As a result, the acceleration and driving dynamics of the all-electric SUV should remain largely unchanged compared to the existing version.

In terms of charging capacity as well, no update is likely to come. This means the upgraded e.MAS EV may continue to support the same AC and DC charging capabilities.
Software updates or convenience features
While no major overhaul is anticipated, the upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 may get minor software updates or convenience features, enhancing the ownership experience.
For concrete details on the new Proton e.MAS 7, we look forward to the electric SUV’s official launch slated for later this month.
