Proton e.MAS crosses 20k mark in less than 7 months, e.MAS 5 leading the charge

KUALA LUMPUR: EV adoption in the Malaysian automotive market has entered a new phase, with a total of 26,192 pure EVs sold in the country in the first half of 2026, representing a tremendous y-o-y growth of 106%. Well, the brand which is leading this momentum is none other than PROTON.

The automaker’s EV arm, the Proton e.MAS, has surpassed 20,000 vehicle sales in less than seven months of 2026. It captured 42.6% of Malaysia's EV market and 41.8% of the xEV market in the first half of 2026.
