Proton records 14.9% growth in July 2026; exports reach a new high
KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has revealed its sales numbers for the month of July. During the first month of H2 2026, the national automaker sold a total of 18,442 units (domestic, export, Proton e.MAS and smart), representing a month-on-month hike of 14.9%. The year-to-date sales stand at 118,788 units, with a year-on-year growth of 38.7%.

Proton recently opened six new Proton e.MAS outlets, expanding its retail network to 58 sales outlets and 45 service centres nationwide. It was followed by the official line-off ceremony for the locally-assembled e.MAS 7 PHEV at the Tanjung Malim plant.

Proton export performance records new high in over 13 years
The automaker’s export business is also performing well. It achieved a significant milestone in July with 1,398 units exported, the highest monthly export volume since March 2013. Factors contributing to the growing numbers are stronger demand and increased regional production of Proton-Geely models assembled at the Tanjung Malim facility for overseas markets.
