10 Most searched cars on Zigwheels Malaysia in 2025

The year 2025 was quite an eventful year for the Malaysian automotive industry, with several new launches, capturing attention from potential buyers and auto enthusiasts. And, Zigwheels Malaysia played a crucial role in helping users explore, compare and research not only newly-launched but also well-established vehicles available in the market.

We analysed our search trends and brought a list of 10 car models that were most searched in 2025.  

Proton S70

Introduced in November 2023, the Proton S70 ranks No.1 in the list of the 10 Most searched cars on Zigwheels Malaysia in 2025. It also holds the No. 1 spot in the C-sedan (under RM 100k) segment in the Malaysian market. The sedan offers attractive aesthetics, good power delivery, a comfortable and tech-laden cabin, and strong safety features.

The Proton S70 comes in four variants - Executive, Premium, Flagship, and Flagship X, priced between RM 73,800 and RM 94,800. All variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo MPI three-cylinder engine generating a maximum power of 150 PS  and a peak torque of 226 Nm.

Toyota Vios

The Toyota Vios has been winning the hearts of Malaysians with its comfortable and practical daily driving, a balanced set of features and low ownership cost for so long. The fourth-generation version of the sedan made its way to the local shores in 2023 with a new Daihatsu New Global Architecture platform and significant styling and tech upgrades, making it even more desirable. 

The Toyota Vios is offered in two variants - E and G, priced at RM 90,600 and RM 96,600, respectively. Both are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated Dual-VVT-i engine tuned to deliver 106 PS and 138 Nm.

Jaecoo J7

Malaysians do like Chinese SUVs, and the testimony is the presence of the Jaecoo J7 in our most searched cars list. This intelligent yet budget-friendly SUV features a sleek design, robust underpinnings, All-Road Drive Intelligent System and a tech-loaded interior.

The Jaecoo J7 comes in two CKD variants in Malaysia - 2WD and AWD, priced at RM 138,800  and RM 148,800, respectively. Both come equipped with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol inline-four cylinder mill, which kicks out a maximum power of 194 hp and a peak torque of 290 Nm. 

Proton X50

Another model in the most searched cars’ list is the SUV that has been topping the charts in the B-segment SUV category for 5 consecutive years. We are talking about Proton’s best-selling SUV, the X50. The model gained a massive following since its debut in 2020, and its recent version took that momentum forward with a more appealing design and innovative tech, targeting younger buyers.

The Proton X50 comes in three variants - Executive, Premium, and Flagship, priced between RM 89,800 and RM 113,300. All three trims run on a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 181 PS and 290 Nm.

Proton Saga

Proton’s longest-running nameplate and the best-selling car, the Saga, ranked fifth in the list of top 10 most searched cars on Zigwheels Malaysia. The sedan’s winning formula is its value-for-money package, proven reliability, and improved quality over time. A total of 74,013 Sagas were sold in 2025, marking its highest sales since 2011.

Proton introduced the all-new, reimagined version of this iconic sedan in 2025, featuring significant styling updates, enhanced tech, advanced driver assistance systems and a more powerful engine. 

The new Saga is offered in three variants - Standard, Executive, and Premium, priced between RM 38,990 to RM 49,990. It runs on a new “iGT” 1.5-litre NA engine that delivers 120 PS and 150 Nm, and 4.9 litres per 100 km fuel efficiency.

Honda City

The ever-popular Honda City is also one of the most searched cars on our platform. The sedan combines style, technology, and practicality that make it a compelling choice for a diverse range of buyers.

The Honda City is offered in five variants - 1.5L S, 1.5L E, 1.5L V, 1.5L RS and 1.5L e:HEV RS, with prices ranging from RM 84,900 to RM 111,900. Powertrain options are - 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC delivering 121 PS and 145 Nm, and 1.5-litre i-VTEC Hybrid with engine delivering 98 PS and 127 Nm, and e-motor producing 109 PS and 253 Nm.

Toyota Veloz

Making it to the seventh position, the Toyota Veloz is a practical, feature-packed, and competitively priced MPV, which is quite popular among buyers seeking a comfortable, affordable, and easy-to-maintain vehicle for their families. 

The Veloz is essentially a premium version of the Alza and comes in a single variant in Malaysia - 1.5 A/T, priced at RM 95,000. Under its bonnet lies a 1.5-litre Dual-VVT-i four-cylinder mill that is tuned to make 106 PS of maximum power and 138 Nm of torque. 

Perodua Myvi

The Perodua Myvi, which has been ruling the Malaysian roads since its introduction in 2015, is also among the top-searched cars on our portal. Called the ‘true Malaysian icon,’ the hatchback stands out with its excellent fuel economy, affordability and surprisingly spacious and practical cabin, making it a hot favourite among daily commuters and budget-conscious buyers. The Myvi is the third best-selling car in Malaysia with a total sales of 64,486 units (as of November 2025).

Perodua offers the Myvi in four trims - G, X, H, and AV, priced between R​​M 46,500 and RM 59,900. Powertrain options are - 1.3-litre 1NR-VE delivering 95 PS and 121 Nm, and 1.5-litre 2NR-VE delivering 103 PS and 137 Nm.

Proton X70

Next up is Proton’s pioneering SUV, the X70, which has proven its mettle over the years. The X70 stands out in the competitive SUV space with its bold new design, well-equipped cabin, and strong driving performance.  

Proton offers the X70 in four variants - Standard, Executive, Premium, and Premium X, with prices ranging between RM 93,800 and RM 126,800. All are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder TGDi engine, churning out 177 PS and 255 Nm.

Perodua Ativa

Rounding off the list is the Perodua Ativa, which has been a smart choice for urban drivers and first-time SUV buyers in Malaysia since its launch in 2021. It is a reliable, versatile and fuel-efficient SUV and comes equipped with strong safety features.

The Perodua Ativa is available in three variants - X, H, and AV, with prices ranging from RM 62,500 to RM 73,400. All are powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine capable of generating 98 PS and 140 Nm.
