Hyundai Malaysia roadmap 2026: Ioniq N models in Q2, new MPV in Q4, and more

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai took full control of its brand presence in Malaysia in 2025, with the establishment of Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) and the launch of the new Santa Fe, the Tucson facelift, and the updated Staria, as part of a renewed commitment to the local market. Well, the automaker is now ready for 2026 with ambitious plans.

    Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N to launch in Q2 2026

    HMY will be reintroducing its Hyundai N brand this year, marking a powerful new chapter in its performance offering. The brand’s N lineup will include - Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N performance EVs. Compared to their standard counterparts, these feature sportier exteriors, N-specific interiors, high-performance drivetrains with N-specific electronic systems, reworked suspension and chassis tuning, offering sharp handling and performance driving.

    Both are powered by a dual-motor AWD powertrain that delivers a maximum power of 650 PS and a peak torque of 770 Nm and 0-100 kmph acceleration of 3.4 seconds for the Ioniq 5 N and 3.2 seconds for the Ioniq 6 N. The motors are powered by an 84-kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides WLTP-rated driving ranges of 448 km and 487 km, respectively.

    Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe CKD in Q2 2026

    The company will also launch the locally assembled Tucson and Santa Fe in the second quarter of the year, indicating more competitive pricing and better market availability.

    New B-segment Hyundai MPV in Q4 2026

    Hyundai will also bring a new B-segment MPV to Malaysia in the fourth quarter. While the automaker has refused to reveal its identity, it is widely speculated to be the Stargazer.

    Set to compete against the Toyota Veloz and Mitsubishi Xpander, the upcoming Hyundai Stargazer measures 4,575 mm in length and 1,780 mm in width. It is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that produces 115 PS and 144 Nm. 

    Expanding network to 25 outlets by the end of 2026

    Currently operating 12 outlets, HMY is set to expand its network to 25 outlets by the end of 2026, including an increased presence in East Malaysia. It signed LOIs with five new partners in 2025, and one earlier this year.

    Enhancing the ownership experience through myHyundaiCare

    HMY also aims to enhance the customers’ ownership experience through myHyundaiCare, which includes 

    • Lower total ownership cost with improved service and maintenance support, and stronger after-sales service initiative
    • Reduced hybrid battery costs with modular replacements
    • Free vehicle inspections and festive service campaigns 
    • Mobile technical support teams and customer service clinics 
    • Continued 8-year / 160,000 km warranty coverage 
    • Hyundai Protection Plan with multiple insurance partners, including Allianz, Berjaya Sompo, Etiqa General Takaful, Takaful Ikhlas, and Tokio Marine.
    • Improved parts availability via the distribution warehouse in Glenmarie, Shah Alam
