Hyundai is calling the Stargazer a "Wehicle", a term HMY managing director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen used to describe the car's family first focus.
According to her, the idea is less about the car itself and more about the people who ride in it, with the Stargazer built around safety, tech and everyday convenience for Malaysian households.
The first batch of Stargazers will be directly imported from Indonesia, with CKD to follow after that. When the CKD Stargazer will follow suit will apparently be told at its official launch somewhere in Q3.

The Stargazer comes in three trims: Style and Prime as 7-seaters, and a 6-seater X variant that gets a sportier, SUV inspired treatment with its own bumpers, a rear spoiler, overfenders and blacked out badging.
Spec wise, the walk up the lineup looks like this:
Style (base) gets LED headlamps, fabric seats, 16-inch alloy wheels, a 4.2-inch driver display, an 8-inch infotainment screen and 2 airbags.
Prime adds fabric and leatherette seats, a bump to 17-inch alloys, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and matching 10.25-inch driver display, 6 airbags, and the full Hyundai SmartSense ADAS suite.
X tops things off with leatherette seats, black gloss alloys, second row captain seats with 50:50 split folding, shift by wire (SBW) transmission controls, plus the sportier exterior add ons mentioned above.
Buyers also get four exterior colour choices: Titan Gray Metallic, Creamy White Pearl, Midnight Black Pearl and Gravity Gold Matte.

Every variant runs the same 1.5 litre Smartstream G1.5 MPI engine paired with a CVT style Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) and a 2WD layout. Output is rated at 115 ps at 6,300 rpm and 143.8 Nm at 4,500 rpm, with a 40 litre fuel tank.
Dimensions differ slightly depending on variant. Style and Prime measure 4,575 mm long and 1,780 mm wide, while the X stretches to 4,610 mm long and 1,820 mm wide thanks to its body add ons. Height ranges from 1,695 mm on the Style up to 1,740 mm on the X, and all three share a 2,780 mm wheelbase.

The Style variant comes with 2 airbags, while Prime and X step up to 6.
Backing all of this is an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty, which Hyundai is positioning as one of the longest in the segment.

HMY has put out estimated pricing for the three variants:
- 7-seater Style: from RM99k
- 7-seater Prime: from RM109k
- 6-seater X: from RM121k
That puts the Stargazer above the usual budget MPV crowd in Malaysia. The Perodua Alza starts from around RM62,500 to RM75,500, the Toyota Veloz sits at roughly RM95,000, and the Mitsubishi Xpander runs from about RM99,980 to RM109,980.
So on paper, the Stargazer's Style variant lands close to Xpander territory, while Prime and X push into a slightly more premium bracket for Malaysian buyers shopping in this segment.
To sweeten the deal for early movers, Hyundai's booth signage shows an early bird value package worth RM4,600 for the first 800 customers who book.
The bundle is made up of the 8-year or 160,000 km warranty, 8 times or 4 years of free service, an RM1,000 All-Star Reward for existing Hyundai owners, and a booking fee of just RM88. Worth noting that the warranty is also positioned as a standard feature of the Stargazer itself, so it is best to check with HMY on showroom day whether it is an early bird exclusive or simply part of how the RM4,600 figure is calculated.
