What the Standard Range brings
The new Standard Range sits on XPENG’s SEPA 2.0 architecture, the same platform basis used across the model, covering the vehicle’s core electrical and software structure, as well as the systems that support its driver assistance and energy management.
The key hardware change is the battery. The Standard Range uses a 68.5 kWh pack, which Bermaz XPENG says is 50 kg lighter than the Long Range variant’s battery.
The selling point here is simple, less weight for better efficiency and a slightly more responsive feel, while keeping the G6’s broader tech and performance character intact.
Equipment-wise, most of the big-ticket cabin tech looks common across variants, but the spec sheet shows a few notable trims between Standard Range and the higher models.
In the driver assist section, the Standard Range does not get the “single Orin” intelligent driving chip listed for the other two, and it also misses Auto Lane Change, while still keeping staples like ACC, lane centring, and the parking assists.
Interestingly, it’s the only one shown with a front-view integrated machine, which the Long Range and AWD don’t list. On the comfort side, the Long Range and AWD pick up Nappa leather + suede ceiling pillars and front seat massage, both of which are not listed for the Standard Range.
The Standard Range comes with smaller 18 inch wheels, unlike the rest of the range that comes with 20 inch wheels.

Charging is still a major part of the G6 story, even for the Standard Range. Bermaz XPENG is quoting the following figures:
- 10% to 80% in 12 minutes
- 800V 5C ultra-fast charging platform
- Up to 480 km WLTP range
- Energy consumption as low as 16.6 kWh per 100 km
There is also a specific real-world usage claim aimed at everyday comfort, Bermaz XPENG says that with the vehicle parked and the air conditioning running, the car uses around 1% battery per hour, which is meant to make waiting and short stops less stressful without feeling like you are burning range just to stay cool.
Powertrain and output
The G6 Standard Range is rear-wheel drive, with an output of 251 PS and 440 Nm. That's about 45 PS less than the next variant up, the RWD Long Range. The lighter battery is positioned as a benefit beyond efficiency, with the company pointing to improved agility and a more immediate response on the road.
Suspension tuning is described as a balance between comfort and composure, with an emphasis on stability through corners and smooth behaviour during lane changes, which matters on Malaysian highways where quick merges and uneven surfaces are part of daily driving.

The Standard Range gets XPILOT Assist as standard, XPENG’s driver assistance suite. XPENG Malaysia highlights 21.5 TOPS computing performance, along with upgraded processing capability to handle real-time data more smoothly.
Features named for the Standard Range include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Lane Centering Control (LCC)
- Autonomous Parking Assist (APA)
- Auto Exit Parking Assist (AEP)
In day-to-day use, the parking functions might be one of the more noticeable parts of the package, especially if you deal with tight bays and busy mall car parks regularly.

Inside, the Standard Range continues with the same G6 cabin theme, a modern, spacious layout with a strong focus on digital interfaces and connected features. Just like the rest of the line-up, there's a 15.6 inch infotainment screen and 10.25 inch meter cluster.
There are soft-touch materials and ambient lighting, plus software-driven conveniences such as customisable X-Combo settings, including functions that can trigger automatically once you fasten your seatbelt.
Rear passenger comfort is also one of its strongpoints, with an optimised backrest angle and longer seat cushion support aimed at longer journeys. A 360-degree camera system is part of the convenience package too, paired with the G6’s wide, airy cabin feel.
