Xpeng G6 CKD rollout begins; first batch handed over to customers

KUALA LUMPUR: Bermaz Xpeng, the official distributor of Xpeng vehicles in Malaysia, has delivered the first batch of locally assembled G6 units to customers at Kuala Lumpur Tower. This milestone reflects the automaker’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence in Malaysia through local assembly and enhanced ownership support.

While retaining the same core strengths in efficiency, intelligent features, and fast charging capability as the CBU model, the Xpeng G6 CKD is manufactured at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s facility in Melaka. 

Xpeng G6 CKD: Price and specifications

Just like the imported model, the locally assembled G6 is also offered in three variants - RWD Standard Range, RWD Long Range, and AWD Performance, with prices ranging from RM 159,948 to RM 191,523.

The RWD models are powered by a single-motor setup that generates a maximum power of 252 PS and 440 Nm on the Standard Range and 296 PS and 440 Nm on the Long Range variant. The AWD Performance trim, on the other hand, runs on two electric motors (one on each axle), kicking out a combined output of 487 PS and 660 Nm. 

As for the battery pack, the base-spec Standard trim gets a 68.5 kWh battery pack and offers a driving range of 480 km (on the WLTP cycle). Both the RWD Long Range and AWD Performance come with an 80.8 kWh LFP pack, providing 525 km and 510 km, respectively.

Built on the 800V platform, the EV can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 12 minutes, thanks to 5C charging capability, delivering practical real-world usability suited to Malaysian driving conditions.

New Xpeng X9 deliveries begin nationwide

Xpeng has also confirmed that customer deliveries of the new X9 electric MPV have commenced nationwide. Equipped with advanced comfort, intelligent driving technologies and versatile interior space, the new Xpeng X9 is priced from RM 279,888 for the FWD Standard Range, RM 297,888 for FWD Long Range and RM 333,888 for the AWD Performance. 

With the rollout of the locally assembled G6 and the start of new X9 deliveries, Xpeng continues to strengthen its positioning in Malaysia’s rapidly developing EV landscape.
