Perodua Traz variants explained - X vs H – Which one should you choose?

Before the year came to a close, Perodua made a bold move by introducing its new Sports Utility Vehicle - the Perodua Traz. After teasing it for only a week, the automaker rolled out the SUV with a bang, marking its second big launch in December. 

Touted as Perodua’s most user-friendly vehicle to date, the Perodua Traz features the “Engineered Simplicity” tagline, signifying its solid engineering and ease of use. The SUV comes in two variants - X and H, priced as follows -

In terms of dimensions, both variants are identical and exude a confident road presence. The 2,620 mm long wheelbase (more than the Proton X50) promises ample cabin space and a stable ride. The ground clearance is estimated at 210 mm, which means the vehicle can handle potholes, bumps and uneven roads very well.

Both variants have a generous luggage capacity of 471 litres (141 litres bigger than the X50), enabling you to carry all essentials for family trips or shopping hauls.

Engine and performance 

Both variants of the Perodua Traz are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, which has been used across Perodua and Toyota models. The engine comes mated to the brand’s D-CVT gearbox, which operates like a regular CVT at lower speeds and switches to a more efficient gear driver at higher speeds, thus offering impressive fuel efficiency, smoothness and acceleration.

The new Perodua SUV is offered in several exciting colour options. While the Traz X is limited to single-tone shades only, the Traz H exclusively comes with dual-tone finishes at an additional cost of RM 900.
