Perodua QV-E Review 2026
Abhishek Katariya says
The Perodua QV-E is Malaysia’s first fully home-grown battery-electric vehicle (BEV) from the country’s largest carmaker. The car had its official launch on 1 December 2025. The QV-E marks Perodua’s entry into the electric vehicle (EV) space as the Malaysian government pushes for electrification.
Perodua QV-E Interior & Features
The 2025 Perodua QV-E gets semi-leather upholstery. It’s an improvement from the plain fabric and is easier to keep clean for family use. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable. The steering is leather-wrapped. Black is the dominant colour with grey/silver accents. The effect is contemporary and visually slimming. The cabin gets mostly moulded plastics for the lower dashboard and door panels. The upper dashboard area gets soft-touch surface. Storage is cleverly packaged beneath the floating console. There are practical bottle holders and cubbies for daily use. The dashboard is dominated by a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It comes with telematics and connectivity features. There’s a row of physical shortcut buttons. The unit is connected to a six-speaker audio system. Wireless phone charging is included. The 2025 Perodua QV-E comes with automatic climate control with physical knobs for quick adjustments. There are rear air vents. There’s also a regenerative-braking switch and drive-mode selector near the rotary e-shifter. The EV gets a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument panel. There’s a digital rear-view mirror that offers rear visibility when cargo or passengers block the view.
Perodua QV-E Exterior
The 2025 Perodua QV-E measures 4,710 mm in length 1,800 mm in width, 1,502 mm in height. The car adopts a sportback profile with a rakish roofline and thick rear pillars. There’s no grille in the front which is typical of most EVs. There’s a continuous full-width light bar. The car gets all-around LED lighting. Below the light bar are double-projector headlights. The lighting setup is complemented by sequential turn signals (including side mirrors) that elevates the premium feel. Flush front door handles and discreet rear quarter-door handles maintain the smooth side profile. The 2025 Perodua QV-E runs on dual-tone, 18-inch alloy wheels that lends the car a more planted road presence. On the sides, the sculpted body with pronounced wheel arches and a muscular stance adds visual weight. At the back, the 2025 Perodua QV-E gets a full-width light bar with a sleek taillight design. There’s a roof-mounted spoiler, a ducktail-style deck lid, and gloss-black bumper accents. All these combine to produce a contemporary and sporty rear profile. The car is available in Icy Blue and Caviar Grey colour options.
Perodua QV-E Ride & Handling
The 2025 Perodua QV-E offers generous legroom and headroom on all seats. The front seats offer nice comfort and adjustability. The rear seats may feel a bit flat. The car is mounted on a platform jointly developed with Magna Steyr. The suspension system is a bit on the firmer side. But the car absorbs bumps and potholes nicely. Handling is competent. The electric motor and torque offer good in-town punch. The firm may detract from confidence on rough or twisty roads.
Perodua QV-E Engine & Fuel Consumption
The 2025 Perodua QV-E is hauled by a single front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor that outputs 204 PS/285 Nm. The motor is powered by a 52.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. The car covers 0–100 kmph in 7.5 seconds in Sport mode. The motor returns a claimed range of 445 km on a full charge. On city roads, the instant torque make daily commuting snappy and smooth. On highways, the motor has enough grunt for steady overtaking.
Perodua QV-E Braking & Safety
The 2025 Perodua QV-E is equipped with a full suite of driver-assist technologies. The Perodua Smart Drive Assist comprises autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, and adaptive cruise control. The electronic suite includes surround-view camera, front and rear corner sensors, and a built-in driving video recorder. A millimetre-wave based child presence detector (CPD) monitors rear-seat occupancy (even under fabric or in darkness) and triggers an alert if a child or pet is left inside.
Perodua QV-E Verdict
The 2025 Perodua QV-E has a starting price of RM 80,000. It’s among the most affordably priced cars in its segment. The car is a great mix of modern features, strong safety, and impressive performance,
