Affordable entry price through the BaaS model

The QV-E is affordably priced at RM 80,000 (without insurance & battery) thanks to Perodua’s battery leasing plan. The automaker not only aims to build cars but to shape a future where cleaner, smarter mobility creates more opportunities and peace of mind.

The EV is offered with first of its kind ‘battery-as-a-service’ model, under which the vehicle’s sticker price does not include the cost of the battery, and buyers need to lease it separately, much like a subscription plan. The battery is leased under a mandatory 9-year contract at an RM 275 monthly fee (excluding the 8% sales and service tax).

It’s simple: you purchase the vehicle’s body at a lower price and pay a monthly fee for the battery.

Removes battery performance worries - the biggest fear for EV owners

The BaaS not only lowers the entry price, making the EV dream a reality for many Malaysians, but also makes ownership more practical for those who are sceptical about EVs due to concerns over battery performance.

Most people worry about EV batteries that gradually lose their capacity, leading to

    • Reduced driving range
    • Higher charging frequency
    • Expensive replacement cost
    • Poor resale value

Well, Perodua’s BaaS model addresses all these concerns very well -

    • Perodua guarantees the health and performance of the battery. If the battery’s State of Health drops below 70%, the automaker will replace it free of cost during the lease period.
    • The battery’s monthly fee covers the battery’s repair, replacement and servicing costs.
    • The battery’s guaranteed SoH also ensures better resale value of the EV. Notably, the QV-E will only be sold through Perodua’s certified pre-owned vehicle service.

    Malaysia’s first home-grown EV

Developed under the government’s NIMP 2030 framework, the Perodua QV-E is designed and developed in-house by Perodua, unlike Proton e.MAS EVs, which are rebadged Geely models. P2 holds all the intellectual property rights for the vehicle’s design and platform.

The EV took RM 800 million to develop and is produced at Perodua's newest manufacturing facility – the “Smart Mobility Plant. So far, a total of 52 Malaysian companies supply auto components for EV; the automaker is looking to increase it to 70 vendors by 2030.

“This model is the outcome of Malaysians coming together to create something uniquely ours, from design to engineering, the QV-E offers a path all of us can benefit from,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Fastest Perodua car with a good driving range

The QV-E is powered by a front-mounted electric motor generating a maximum power of 204 PS and a peak torque of 285 Nm of torque. It enables the EV to run from zero to 100 kmph in 7.5 seconds, making it Perodua’s most powerful and fastest accelerating car ever.

The motor is fed by a CATL-sourced 52.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which offers a driving range of 445 km on the NEDC cycle, equivalent to 380 km on the WLTP cycle. As for charging, it supports up to 6.6 kW AC and 60 kW DC charging. While the former juices up a 0-100% battery in eight hours, the latter can do 30 to 80% job in just 30 mins.

    Bold presence and modern features

The SUV combines urban futurism, sporty performance, and familiar Perodua familiarity in a sleek 5-door sportback design. It features a spacious cabin packed with the latest functionality and advanced safety, offering comfort to all occupants on board.
