Perodua begins exporting Alza and Traz to Sri Lanka

KUALA LUMPUR: It’s no secret that Malaysians love affordable and practical cars. This is clearly evident from the country’s top-selling cars list, which is dominated by models such as the Perodua Bezza, Perodua Axia, and Perodua Alza. Well, two of those popular models are now heading beyond Malaysian shores. 

We are talking about the Perodua Alza and the Perodua Traz, which are now being exported to Sri Lanka. Handling the local distribution is Unimo Enterprises Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of United Motors Lanka PLC. 

Introductory prices for Sri Lanka

To mark the launch, Perodua is offering its latest model, the Traz, at a special introductory price to the first 50 customers in Sri Lanka.

Perodua Traz

• With body kit - Rs. 19,950,000 (approximately equal to RM 243,090)
• Without body kit -  Rs. 19,200,000 (approximately equal to RM 233,957)

Perodua Alza 

• Rs. 19,950,000 (approximately equal to RM 243,090)

All prices are inclusive of VAT and a five-year or 150,000 km manufacturer warranty. If you are wondering why the prices are so high, it’s mainly due to Sri Lanka’s high taxation structure on imported vehicles. 

Sri Lanka among Perodua’s largest export markets

Notably, Perodua is actively exporting its Completely Built-Up models to six countries, namely Brunei, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Mauritius, Bangladesh, and Papua New Guinea. 

Sri Lanka is one of the brand’s largest export markets, with over 20,000 of its models sold there since 1997. 

Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of United Motors Lanka PLC, Mr. Chanaka Yatawara, said since the lifting of vehicle import restrictions in 2025, the company has sold close to 3,000 vehicles, clearly demonstrating the strong trust Sri Lankan customers continue to place in the brand.

A brief about the Perodua Alza and Perodua Traz

Perodua Alza

• The Alza is Perodua’s best-selling 7-seater family MPV in Malaysia, with a total of 19,504 units sold between January and June 2026. 
• The automaker launched the second-gen Alza as a versatile, spacious, and well-equipped SUV based on a new platform.
• It is offered in three variants - X, H, and AV, all powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a D-CVT gearbox. The price ranges from RM 62,500 to RM 75,500.  

Perodua Traz

• Launched in December last year, the Traz is a B-segment SUV, positioned as Perodua’s most user-friendly model to date. 
• It is offered in two variants - X and H, priced at RM 76,100 and RM 82,000 (on-the-road price, without insurance), respectively. 
• Based on Perodua’s DNGA platform, the Traz runs on a 1.5-litre DVVT-i engine, generating a maximum power of 106 PS and a peak torque of 138 Nm.
