MAS 2025: BMW R 1300 GS Adventure launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia has introduced the all-new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025. Touted as the most refined and capable GS ever built, the latest model redefines the adventure touring experience with its exceptional performance, versatility, and comfort riding.

BMW has reengineered the engine, chassis, bodywork, design and storage of the adventure motorcycle to meet the evolving expectations of riders who love adventure touring.

Most powerful BMW boxer engine

The bike is powered by a legendary 1,300-cc twin-cylinder boxer engine paired to a new arrangement of the camshaft drive. It kicks out a maximum power of 145 hp from 7,750 rpm and a peak torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm, making it the most powerful BMW boxer engine ever to be produced in series. 

Part of the Dynamic Package is the Riding Modes Pro system, which offers different ride modes like Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro. As for more advanced performance, there are Dynamic, Dynamic Pro, and Enduro Pro modes.

Also part of the kit is an Automated Shift Assistant, which automates clutch and gear shifts for smoother and easier riding

Redesigned chassis

The bike underpins a completely redesigned chassis offering better stability and more precision handling. The framing comprises a steel sheet metal main frame and an aluminium lattice tube rear frame, enhancing rigidity. As for better comfort, performance, and safety, it features adaptive vehicle height control, and Dynamic Suspension Adjustment function.

Advanced lighting technology

The 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is equipped with Matrix LED headlights consisting a single LED unit for both low and high beams and four additional LED units for the daytime running light and the side light. There are two extra-flat auxiliary LED headlamps integrated into the bike’s bodywork along with newly designed LED turn indicators.

Advanced safety and connectivity

The bike is packed with several advanced safety and driving-assistance features as standard, including -

Advanced connectivity

As for connectivity, there is a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display, offering vibrant, real-time information such as speed, fuel levels, riding modes, and more. The bike also has an additional Sport screen displaying information on lean angle, traction and braking behaviour.

The instrument cluster supports BMW Motorrad Connected app, enabling riders to access vehicle status, navigation, and performance data via their smartphones.

Other standard features include - RDC, heated grips, Comfort rider and passenger seats, Keyless Ride, and a smartphone charging compartment, USB socket and 12V on-board power socket. 

Variants and pricing

BMW Motorrad Malaysia offers the new R 1300 GS Adventure in four variants - Racing Red, Triple Black, GS Trophy, and Option 719 Karakorum.

The 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure Standard is priced at RM 150,000, while the Triple Black and GS Trophy cost RM 155,000. The top-spec R 1300 GS Adventure Option 719 Karakorum retails for RM 165,000.
