KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside several exciting car launches, BMW Group Malaysia also unveiled the all-new R 1300 RT bike at the MY BMW World 2025 event. This latest touring motorcycle is lighter and more dynamic than its predecessor and brings class-leading comfort, cutting-edge tech and exceptional performance to the table.

Trim options

The bike features a bold new design with a lighter, sleeker profile complementing its commanding road presence. It is offered in three trims - Standard, Triple Black and Impulse.
- Sprayed with Alpine White colour, the Standard trim boasts a clean, elegant touring design with sharper lines and a flatter tank ramp. The appearance is further enhanced by a brushed stainless steel rear silencer, tubular handlebars, and a polished stainless steel manifold.
- The Triple Black variant is painted in Blackstorm metallic and sets itself apart with a Dark Chrome exhaust manifold, forged handlebars, and a high touring windshield.
- The Impulse variant, finished in Racing Blue Metallic, stands out with a sports windshield, design option wheels, and a unique variable slipstream deflector.

BMW also offers two Limited Edition variants of the bike - Triple Black Limited Edition and Impulse Limited Edition, with only five units each available nationwide. The former features the complete Style Triple Black treatment, while the latter boasts design highlights of the Style Impulse package. Both models also come with -
- Comfort Package including a central locking, a main centre stand, an anti-theft alarm, and an electrified variable luggage system
- Audio Pro system with premium-grade speakers
Engine and performance
The new German tourer is powered by an updated version of the legendary 1,300-cc twin-cylinder boxer engine, which generates a maximum power of 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and a peak torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox with Automated Shift Assistant.
Enhancing the performance is BMW ShiftCam Technology, which dynamically adjusts valve timing and stroke to balance performance and fuel efficiency. The available driving modes are -

- Riding Modes Pro - Dynamic and Dynamic Pro

Wheel, suspension & braking
The new BMW R 1300 RT rides on 17-inch hollow-spoke cast aluminium wheels, which are 1.4 kg lighter than the previous model and add to agility and braking responsiveness.
The advanced suspension systems comprise the EVO Telelever front suspension, which uses a stainless-steel plate to decouple steering and fork forces and enhance steering precision. The rear gets the EVO Paralever suspension, featuring a stiffer frame mount and reinforced swingarm. The Sport Brake System offers enhanced stopping power and visual distinction with titanium-coloured callipers.

Dynamic assistance and advanced connectivity
The new BMW R 1300 RT comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced rider assistance and dynamic systems. It includes -
