What is the new Valvoline Champ engine oil range?
It is a range of engine oils launched in Malaysia for four-stroke motorcycles and scooters, with different formulations and viscosity grades for various riding needs.Does Valvoline Champ include fully synthetic engine oil?
Yes. Fully synthetic options include Champ 4T Ultra Racing in 10W-40 and 10W-50, plus Champ 4T Ultra Scooter in 5W-40.Are there dedicated Valvoline Champ oils for scooters?
Yes. The scooter lineup includes Champ 4T Ultra Scooter, Champ 4T Extra Scooter and Champ 4T Premium Scooter, carrying JASO MB certification alongside API certification. The range includes fully synthetic and synthetic blend oils in several viscosity grades. According to Valvoline, the formulations cater to riding conditions common in Malaysia, including high temperatures and frequent stop-start traffic.
The oils are now available through authorised workshops, retailers and service centres nationwide, with Vanli Group handling distribution as one of Valvoline’s authorised local distributors. Pricing was not included in the announcement.
Leading the motorcycle range is the fully synthetic Valvoline Champ 4T Ultra Racing 10W-50, aimed at high-performance motorcycles and long-distance riding. It uses the company’s Power Booster Technology, which Valvoline says helps maintain engine protection and throttle response under sustained heat and high-speed use.
Alongside it is Champ 4T Extra 15W-50, a synthetic blend intended for daily riding in urban traffic. Sold in one-litre packs, it features XTRA Clean Technology, with engine cleanliness and deposit control among its stated benefits.
Valvoline says both these formulations meet API SP and JASO MA2 standards.
Motorcyclists also have a fully synthetic Champ 4T Ultra Racing 10W-40 option. Like the 10W-50 version, it uses Power Booster Technology and is positioned for riders who regularly cover longer distances.
The synthetic blend Champ 4T Extra is available in both 10W-40 and 15W-50 grades. Valvoline claims its XTRA Clean formulation helps control engine deposits and improve fuel economy during stop-start riding.
Further down the range are Champ 4T Premium, offered in 20W-40 and 20W-50, and Champ 4T, available in 20W-40. These target general commuting and older four-stroke motorcycles, with wear protection and resistance to high operating temperatures as their main selling points. The standard motorcycle lineup carries JASO MA2 certification alongside the relevant API certifications.
Scooter owners get a separate range carrying JASO MB certification, alongside API certification.
At the top is Champ 4T Ultra Scooter 5W-40, a fully synthetic oil supplied in 0.8-litre packs. Intended for newer gearless scooters, it uses Power Booster Technology, with Valvoline claiming benefits in fuel efficiency, heat protection and power delivery.
The Champ 4T Extra Scooter comes in 10W-30 and 10W-40 grades and is aimed at mid-generation gearless scooters. It uses XTRA Clean Technology to help manage deposits and maintain engine cleanliness.
Completing the scooter lineup is Champ 4T Premium Scooter, also available in 10W-30 and 10W-40. It is positioned for short daily trips, with wear protection over standard oil-change intervals.
